About the Role

We're seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as a trusted analytical partner to business stakeholders. This role owns core planning and reporting cycles, forecasting, budgeting, month-end close support, and variance analysis. The role is also responsible for producing the insight that shapes resource decisions. You'll work independently on complex analyses and translate financial data into clear recommendations for non-finance audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly and quarterly forecasting process for assigned business areas, including OpEx and CapEx, and headcount modeling

  • Identify and implement AI-driven efficiencies in financial workflows, utilizing Claude AI to automate repetitive spreadsheet tasks, streamline forecast aggregation, and accelerate variance analysis

  • Lead the annual budget cycle for your portfolio: build bottoms-up plans, partner with department owners, and reconcile to top-down targets

  • Deliver month-end variance analysis (actuals vs. budget/forecast), identify drivers, and flag risks and opportunities to leadership

  • Build and maintain financial models supporting business cases, scenario planning, and investment decisions

  • Partner with Accounting on close activities including accruals, reclasses, and account reconciliations

  • Develop recurring management reporting and dashboards; improve the accuracy, automation, and cycle time of existing processes

  • Present findings and recommendations to finance leadership and business partners in clear, decision-ready terms

  • Support ad hoc analyses for executive leadership, including board and investor reporting inputs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field

  • 3–6 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or public accounting

  • Advanced Excel skills: complex modeling, large data sets, sensitivity and scenario analysis

  • Working knowledge of financial statements and how the three statements connect

  • Experience with an ERP and a planning tool (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday Adaptive, Anaplan, Pigment)

  • Proven experience or strong focus on using AI-augmented productivity tools (Claude, Gemini, or specialized AI extensions) to optimize financial data analysis, modeling, or reporting workflows

  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities against tight close and planning deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, CPA, or CFA (or progress toward)

  • An AI-forward mindset, characterized by an openness to experimentation, continuous learning, and adapting to rapidly evolving, AI-augmented corporate environments

  • SQL or experience querying data warehouses; familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI)

  • Experience in [industry — e.g., media, technology, advertising]

  • Track record of automating or redesigning a recurring finance process

The material job duties and responsibilities of this role include those listed above as well as adhering to Yahoo policies; exercising sound judgment; working effectively, safely and inclusively with others; exhibiting trustworthiness and meeting expectations; and safeguarding business operations and brand integrity.
