Role Overview:

Could you be our next Sr. Initiative Manager? Globe Life is looking for a Sr. Initiative Manager to join the team!

This role is responsible for driving high-impact, cross-functional initiatives across Globe Life's strategic portfolio domains, translating organizational strategy into measurable business outcomes while maintaining disciplined delivery across scope, schedule, and budget. Operating as a trusted execution partner to Portfolio Managers, Program Managers, and senior stakeholders, the Senior Initiative Manager brings operational rigor, proactive risk management, and clear reporting transparency to every initiative. While work may span technology-adjacent areas, this role is fundamentally business-outcome focused, making it an ideal opportunity for a strategic thinker who thrives at the intersection of leadership, collaboration, and results-driven execution.

This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, TX (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).

What You Will Do:

  • Articulate complex, interconnected business concepts and connect cross-functional dependencies that might impede progress toward business goals.
  • Apply industry trends and competitor insights to identify opportunities beneficial to the business.
  • Synthesize information from multiple perspectives, applying an analytical lens to present logical conclusions.
  • Mentor and guide team members, promoting best practices, knowledge sharing, and a culture of accountability, transparency, and results-driven performance.
  • Drive collaboration across business functions, listening to differing viewpoints, emphasizing agreement, and contributing to the creation and evaluation of possible solutions.
  • Build relationships through honest, consistent behavior and use facts and concrete examples to facilitate consensus and decision-making.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for initiative sponsors, functional leads, and cross-functional teams, providing regular status updates to the Portfolio Manager, Program Manager, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ensure clarity on objectives, deliverables, and expectations across all initiative participants.
  • Lead the full lifecycle of assigned initiatives, from scoping to delivery and post-implementation review, including project plans, schedules, resource allocation, and budget estimates.
  • Ensure initiatives are aligned to portfolio priorities and enterprise strategic objectives.
  • Identify risks, issues, and dependencies; implement mitigation and escalation plans; and facilitate decision-making with stakeholders to resolve scope, resource, and priority conflicts.
  • Maintain initiative dashboards, tracking KPIs and milestones, and prepare executive-ready reports including status updates and variance analyses.
  • Support portfolio-level reporting to demonstrate initiative contributions to strategic goals and ensure compliance with enterprise project management and governance standards.

What You Can Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, IT, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 5–8+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives or programs.
  • Management consulting experience is a strong plus.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred; Change Management experience preferred.
  • Domain knowledge in one or more of the following: Corporate Services (HR, Legal & Compliance, IT, Risk), Finance/Accounting/Actuarial, or Sales/Marketing.
  • Experience leading enterprise strategic initiatives with familiarity in portfolio dashboards and enterprise strategy alignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources across concurrent initiatives.
  • Exposure to business architecture or business model innovation initiatives.
  • Strong initiative, ownership, and accountability with the ability to think and act strategically.
  • Proactively builds cross-functional and external relationships.
  • Makes sound decisions grounded in a solid understanding of business goals, functions, and processes.
  • Simplifies complex problems through critical thinking and objectively facilitates cross-functional collaboration.
  • Continuously seeks opportunities to learn and demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Assesses and mitigates risk in plans and actions.
  • Leverages strong written and verbal communication skills to craft compelling, audience-targeted messages.
