We empower our partners, from neobanks to financial institutions and beyond, to offer tailored rewards that celebrate customers' daily transactions. Backed by $30M from industry-leading investors and seasoned experts, we are reshaping the future of customer engagement.

About the Role

As a Senior Issuer Solutions Engineer at Kard, you’ll lead the post-launch technical experience for our issuer partners while driving strategic initiatives across the organization. You’ll drive feature adoption and ensure customers scale effectively on our platform. Blending advanced engineering knowledge with customer focus, you'll work independently across Product, Engineering, and Account Management to remove friction, solve complex challenges, and unlock long-term value. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone excited to drive innovation, take full ownership of strategic projects, and shape a growing function from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Kard's most complex issuer clients, independently managing high-stakes relationships and driving adoption of platform features using tools like Postman, MongoDB, Databricks, Datadog, and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
  • End-to-End Project Ownership: Lead comprehensive post-launch technical success initiatives, taking full ownership of API integrations, multi-phase rollouts, and strategic expansion projects that directly impact client retention and revenue growth.
  • Cross-Functional Strategic Partner: Drive alignment between Product, Engineering, and business teams by translating complex technical requirements into strategic roadmap priorities, ensuring our platform evolution meets both current client needs and future market opportunities.
  • Process Innovation: Manage and evolve technical documentation and tooling to improve integration efficiency and customer onboarding experiences.
  • Help build the foundation of Kard’s Solutions Engineering practice; owning day-to-day execution and advising on long-term strategy in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.

Desired Skills

  • 8-12 years of experience in senior technical customer-facing roles (e.g., Solutions Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Implementation Engineer) at a fintech, adtech, or API-first company.
  • Deep, hands-on experience working with APIs, particularly within the financial ecosystem (e.g., Marqeta, Galileo, Plaid, LiveRamp, Open Banking APIs, FIS, Fiserv),  including the ability to architect and troubleshoot complex integrations independently.
  • Proven track record of planning and executing feature adoption (upsells and/or crosssells) strategies, solution implementation, and post-sale support.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs with the ability to independently analyze complex technical documentation and debug integration issues.
  • Advanced proficiency in Postman, strong SQL skills, and comprehensive understanding of cloud architectures (AWS experience strongly preferred), with the ability to work across multiple technical environments.
  • Clear, confident communicator who can seamlessly translate complex technical concepts into strategic business recommendations and lead technical discussions with C-level executives.
  • Highly organized with exceptional project management skills and demonstrated ability to drive results in ambiguous environments.
  • Curious and collaborative; eager to understand how Kard works under the hood and help our partners succeed.
  • U.S. core business hours availability and willingness to travel for company meetings.

Bonus Points

  • Experience building or scaling a solutions function.
  • Background in card-linked offers, loyalty, or banking APIs.
  • Exposure to scripting, automation, or data integration.
  • Startup experience with cross-functional responsibilities.
