The team plays a critical role in the monthly and quarterly close while continuously improving how accounting work gets done through automation, scalable processes, and modern financial systems.
Position Overview
Yahoo is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Sr Manager, Corporate Accounting to own Personnel accounting including Payroll accounting, Benefits, Restructuring, Long Term Incentive Comp, and Bonus accruals, while leading a team of 2 accounting professionals responsible for the monthly and quarterly close process.
This is a managerial role reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Accounting. You'll own your areas end to end, while partnering closely with Finance, HR, FP&A, Legal, Procurement, and Finance Systems. You'll bring strong technical accounting depth and a continuous improvement mindset, using Oracle Financials, automation, and AI to reduce manual work and strengthen the control environment.
What You'll Do
Manage and oversee accounting and close activities for key corporate accounting functions, including payroll, benefits, long term incentive and restructuring accounting.
Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for non personnel accounting
Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses in compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX, and internal accounting policies.
Maintain and strengthen SOX key controls, including control documentation, evidence, and walkthrough support.
Partner cross-functionally with Finance, HR, FP&A, Legal, Procurement, and Finance Systems on personnel cost questions, forecasting inputs, and Oracle Financials issues.
Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external auditors on assigned areas.
Drive automation and AI adoption to eliminate manual work, using Oracle Financials alongside tools such as Gemini and Claude, and validate AI-generated output before it is relied upon.
Document and improve accounting policies, procedures, and standard operating workflows.
Support broader controllership initiatives and special projects as needed.
Requirements
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a large public company or similarly complex global organization.
CPA preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, and corporate accounting operations.
Experience working with Oracle Financials or a comparable enterprise ERP. Oracle Financials experience is strongly preferred.
Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets.
Demonstrated experience using automation and AI tools to improve efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
Ability to manage tight close deadlines independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

The compensation for this position ranges from $110,625.00 - $230,625.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
