The Engineering Manager will lead a major initiative aimed at enhancing the omni-channel experience for Medicare shoppers seeking health plans tailored to their needs. The engineering team is responsible for designing and implementing an AI-driven architecture that integrates multiple models-ML, GenAI, and LLMs-to support diverse consumer use cases in sales and marketing.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as Technology Leader for an external facing Portal application
- Design, develop, and implement models using GenAI (LLMs, agentic frameworks) and/or traditional ML on the cloud
- Write and deploy scalable Python APIs for model inference, optimized for Kubernetes containerization and orchestration of agentic flows
- Lead proof-of-concept experiments in generative AI (transformers, state space models, LLMs) to address business challenges
- Implement and integrate Azure AI Search capabilities to enhance data accessibility and retrieval for analytics and business intelligence
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, software engineers and product managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions and to identify opportunities where data science can add value
- Utilize version control tools such as GitHub for code management and collaboration, and manage multiple activities in a fast-paced environment while adhering to best practices in coding and documentation
- Collaborate with research, engineering, and product teams to translate cutting-edge AI advancements into production-ready capabilities
- Uphold ethical AI principles by embedding fairness, transparency, and accountability throughout the model development lifecycle
- Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions to address complex business challenges with emphasis on responsible use of AI

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Python, with demonstrated proficiency in scikit-learn and/or Databricks
- 5+ years of experience designing and deploying cloud-native solutions on Azure or AWS, with emphasis on scalable AI/ML workloads
- 4+ years of experience leading teams, managing performance, and driving strategic initiatives
- Proven experience deploying NLP models or LLM-based solutions in production environments with large datasets; solid grasp of core NLP principles
- Experience applying Machine Learning techniques in a commercial enterprise, including supervised, unsupervised learning, time-series forecasting and other statistical analyses
- Experience developing and deploying scalable Python APIs for model inference, including containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes
- Proven solid written & verbal communication skills; including the ability to present detailed analyses to a broad audience
- Ability to be an organized self-starter, with drive and commitment; able to work with little supervision
- Proven solid analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work CST work hours
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience architecting and deploying solutions on AWS
- Experience using vision and speech models in GenAI
- Experience in the Healthcare domain
