Role Summary

As a Senior Pricing Specialist, you will lead the development of competitive and compliant pricing strategies for major transportation projects. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive pricing analysis, and play a key role in securing new business for Kapsch.

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal Development & Pricing Strategy

  • Analyze RFP requirements and develop detailed cost and pricing models for proposals.
  • Partner with Engineering, Project Management, Solution Centers, and subject matter experts to gather and validate cost data.
  • Lead proposal price review meetings, coordinating with executive leadership to secure necessary approvals.
  • Develop competitive pricing analyses and establish Price to Win targets for all proposals.
  • Ensure 100% compliant and complete price proposals are delivered on schedule.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Estimate and optimize cash flow based on forecasted costs and payment schedules.
  • Identify alternative payment milestones to improve expected cash flow.
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing pricing trends and proposal performance.

Stakeholder Engagement & Negotiation

  • Participate in contract negotiations, including price, scope, terms, and acceptance criteria.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to understand customer requirements and ensure alignment.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance proposal cost/pricing templates and tools to meet company standards.
  • Continuously improve pricing processes and methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience providing pricing solutions in the transportation industry or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including complex formulas and comparative data analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems (INFOR) and pricing software is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet firm deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise others.
  • Proven track record of working independently and collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
