The RoleAspenTech’s Digital Grid Management (DGM’s) Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) is a high growth area in our business that unlocks an electric distribution utility’s ability to monitor, manage, control, and optimize the grid. As a Senior Principal Power Systems Engineer, you will have broad exposure to our ADMS projects & customers with a focus on defining the strategy and leading the execution of those with project teams. You will work closely with our customers and project team to provide governance and manage the financial health of our ADMS projects to help drive success.

Your Impact

Project Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execution of strategy for successful ADMS project portfolio execution. Lead design, planning, and execution of ADMS projects. Help drive projects to successful closure through a combination of technical, business, and management acumen.
  • Implementation of control systems at electric utilities that improve their efficiency to operate the modern grid while ensuring contract requirements and specifications are met.
  • Work closely with OSI development teams to prioritize product changes to meet project needs.
  • Lead improvement initiatives across the Professional Services organization.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship of ADMS engineers.

Customer Facing Support

  • Support pre-sales and sales activities to ensure smooth transition of project strategy to the delivery teams. Support Design & Discovery efforts with potential customers to identify scope of work for future projects.
  • Lead customer workshops focused on business processes.
  • Train customers on how to operate the systems.
What You'll Need

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering with specializations in power systems or computer science
  • Minimum of 12 years of work experience in applications, power systems, or project engineering
  • Knowledge of complex system designs, computer systems, engineering practices, and control systems
  • Successful track record of large-scale project deployments
  • Ability to assist and guide in complex technical problem solving activities
  • Ability to travel at least 15%

Preferred Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Power Systems Engineering, or equivalent, a plus
  • GIS maintenance, administration, and data entry experience
  • Database and data structure knowledge and experience (SQL, XML, Mongo, GIS)
  • Programming and scripting knowledge (python)
