A Lot About You 

 We are looking for a motivated, technically strong Sr. Product Manager who is ready to own the vision and strategy for one of our critical platform pillars, primarily Cloud Runtime (Application Runtime/K8, Security Platform, Database Platform, Key/Value & Messaging, etc). In this role, you will partner with engineering leaders and stakeholders across all of Yahoo to find ways to accelerate business delivery and customer success.  

Responsibilities 

  •  Deliver innovative platform solutions that reduce cognitive load, save costs, and improve the performance and reliability of engineering systems across the company 

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader, evangelizing the platform's value and future roadmap to executive stakeholders.

  • Work backwards from internal customers across the company to understand product and feature needs 

  • Utilize various feedback gathering techniques, including surveys, interviews, product analytics, etc., to gain insight into customer needs and a unified platform experience

  • Disambiguate and document customer problems and translate them into clearly defined minimum viable products 

  • Define, measure, drive, and improve key product metrics to demonstrate clear ROI and accelerate business objectives 

  • Collaborate with engineering, finance, procurement, and other functions to balance tradeoffs between costs, technical feasibility, timelines, and other constraints

  • Partner with engineering to prioritize product capabilities and engineering needs

  • Execute on go-to-market internally to drive adoption, usage, and close the feedback loop

  • Contribute to setting the strategic vision for the platform  

Requirements 

  •  M.S/B.S. in Computer Science/Engineering/Statistics (or equivalent experience)

  • 4+ years of experience in product management working on cloud or developer tools

  • 7+ years of industry experience in software services 

  • Demonstrated deep technical understanding of cloud services and architectural patterns, preferably gained through prior software development experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Understanding of modern cloud services and architectural patterns

The compensation for this position ranges from $120,750.00 - $251,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
