Senior Product Manager, Video Telematics


Xirgo is seeking a dynamic and innovative Senior Product Manager to lead our video telematics portfolio. The ideal candidate has broad experience managing and growing a portfolio of IoT products, including new development definition/justification, customer and field exposure, and engineering engagement. This individual will be passionate about solving real-world problems to propel customer success; they will use technical knowhow, a personal drive for innovation, and outstanding communication skills to chart a product path forward. This role requires cooperation and influence across various key business units including Engineering, Program Management, Support, Operations, Sales, Field Applications Engineering, and Marketing.  

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Product Manager for Xirgo’s video telematics portfolio, encompassing dashcams, multicam platforms, cloud platforms, and AI events
  • Key role in building portfolio strategy and balancing complex requirements to achieve business success
  • Duties include the creation of Market Requirements Documents (MRDs), Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), Business Cases, Pricing Strategies, Competitor Analyses, User Personas and Segmentation, and M&A analysis.
  • Gather input from customers, sales, field applications engineering, support, and engineering teams regarding product requirements, to define:
    • New products
    • New features
    • Bug fixes
    • Prioritization of the above three
  • Translate complex business requirements, regulatory rules, and other customer/market features into comprehensive technical requirements. 
  • Gather input from technical teams during the requirements development phase to align market needs with technology capabilities and trends to create future-proof solutions.
  • Manage Agile sprint planning and grooming sessions
  • Manage product launch activities and coordination with marketing, including development of market message, training materials, and marketing collateral.
  • Act as the corporate-wide subject matter expert for video telematics features and applications. Stay abreast of all industry trends including regulatory requirements. Support industry trade shows, analyst interviews, RFPs, marketing materials and campaigns, demonstrations, etc.
  • Work with QA and system test engineering teams to ensure test coverage for all areas related to Logistics solutions (hardware, firmware, and software). 
  • Define needs and guide process for product documentation, including user guides, release notes, and installation guides.
  • Initiate field-facing communication for product design changes, software release, and lifecycle updates.
  • Serve as a liaison to assist Xirgo’s Sales, Field Applications Engineering, and Support teams in understanding, selling, and supporting all video telematics solutions including business applications, technical solutions and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with Program Management to address all phases of the product lifecycle including development, alpha, beta and product launch.
  • Serve as customer/user group advisory board leadership
  • Prepare reports for the monthly/quarterly business reviews for executive stakeholders.  Focus on progress, adoption, profitability, and quality targets, as examples.
  • Develop and maintain the video telematics roadmap that encompasses devices (hardware and firmware), software, analytics, AI, and machine learning.  Ensure connection with other product lines which support our vision for the wider telematics market.
  • Develop strategic plans for further penetration into existing markets as well as new geographies and adjacencies.

 

Qualifications/Background:

  • Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in Product Management or similar role, preferably in an IoT device design business environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • Strong financial acumen to develop business cases, perform market analyses, and present financial data
  • Proven experience with VOC discovery, MRDs, PRDs, and agile development methodologies
  • Technically oriented, possessing an aptitude for rapidly learning device design details and complex software applications
  • A self-starter with strong interpersonal skills who is eager to learn and create
  • Strong work ethic with an ability to multi-task and manage several milestone projects simultaneously
  • Ability to manage stakeholders across functions to achieve cooperation and successful results
  • Understanding of IoT and imaging technologies (e.g. cellular, Bluetooth, cameras, optics)
  • Experience in the fleet transportation industry and indirect channel sales and marketing is ideal
  • Experience with IoT products including sensors and AI preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence)
  • Must have the unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Travel: Up to 20%
