We’re looking for an experienced protocol engineer to join our Trade team, building the experiences that power hundreds of millions in on-chain volume on Zora. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the core smart contracts contributing to the evolution of Zora’s protocol layer. You’ll build protocol components for onchain trading/market infrastructure on Zora with creator markets, Uniswap integration, and various vesting and rewards contracts, with safety and UX constraints aligning with Zora's needs
What You'll Do:- Contribute to the Zora protocol by designing and implementing smart contracts
- Handle maintenance, security review, and full protocol lifecycle
- Write adversarial tests (fuzzing, invariant/property-based testing) and maintain a security-first mindset in development and review
- Partner with auditors and respond to findings; drive fixes through deployment
- Participate in RFC and code review process with a security and reusability mindset
- Collaborate across engineering teams to integrate smart contracts across the stack
- Communicate status, updates, blockers, etc., to cross-functional stakeholders
- 4+ years of experience shipping production-level contracts or protocol features
- Experience with DeFi protocols
- Deep understanding of EVM
- Familiarity with Git, Foundry, Hardhat and modern solidity toolchains
- Experience with formal/invariant thinking, MEV considerations, upgrade safety, and incident response
- Comfort moving across the stack when needed (TypeScript / React / Next / Python)
- High degree of ownership and autonomy
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, across both technical and non-technical teams
- Pay Range: $200,000 - $300,000 base salary + equity + tokens
