As a Senior Software Engineer at MOXFIVE, you will design and build backend services and APIs for an AI-powered incident response platform, ensuring reliability and maintainability in distributed systems.
The summary above was generated by AI

Who We Are:
MOXFIVE is building technologies that leverage AI to streamline the response, recovery, and resilience from cyber attacks in enterprises. We are looking for talented Backend Software Engineers to join as members of our engineering team, where your contributions will significantly shape our architecture and key technical decisions.
The MOXFIVE founding team brings over 30 years of combined cybersecurity experience from leading companies such as CrowdStrike, Mandiant, Palo Alto Networks, Crypsis, Illumio, and Expel. Today, we are focused on seizing an opportunity with the potential to disrupt the breach response market.
Who You Are:
You’re a senior software engineer who designs and builds backend services, APIs, and workflow systems for modern, scalable software platforms. You’re comfortable solving hard distributed-systems problems and turning complexity into reliable, maintainable software.
You take pride in building elegant, durable systems and writing code that lasts. You care about clarity, performance, and maintainability, and you’re motivated by making software easier to evolve as the business grows. You enjoy shaping architecture, improving core platform capabilities, and delivering features that create clear value for users and customers.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment where engineers own meaningful technical decisions and use AI as a core part of how they design, build, debug, and ship software.
The Impact You’ll Have:
At MOXFIVE, you won’t just be building software, you’ll be helping shape a platform that matters during some of the most high-stakes moments our customers face. Engineers here have the opportunity to work closely with customers responding to cyber incidents, understand what is actually useful in those moments, and build systems that directly improve their outcomes.
We’re building an AI-powered incident response platform designed to help customers recover faster and restore business operations with confidence.
What You’ll Bring

  • Experience: 5+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful time in a Senior or Lead role designing and building distributed systems.

  • Go Expertise: Deep expertise in Go and strong experience building reliable backend services in production.

  • Data Modeling Strategy: Strong experience designing transactional data layers and choosing the right storage pattern for the job. You know when relational consistency matters, when flexibility is worth the tradeoff, and when caching or ephemeral state can simplify performance and reliability.

  • API Governance: Experience designing and evolving production-grade APIs, including contract-first protobuf/RPC APIs for service-to-service communication and clean HTTP APIs for external consumers. You care about clear contracts, backward compatibility, and schema evolution.

  • Workflow Orchestration & Durability: Experience designing and operating reliable multi-step workflows in distributed systems using tools like Temporal, or similar platforms. You understand retries, idempotency, compensation, resumability, and how to make execution reliable when services or dependencies fail.

  • Event-Driven Systems: Hands-on experience with asynchronous messaging and event-driven architectures, including stream/topic design, delivery guarantees, idempotent processing, failure handling across service boundaries, and coordination of multi-step workflows.

  • AI/LLM Systems: Experience building or productionizing AI-assisted features is a plus. You should be comfortable thinking through orchestration, tool execution, evaluation, and reliability concerns for long-running AI-driven workflows.

  • Nice to have - Cloud Architecture: Deep familiarity with AWS, especially EKS, IAM, private networking, secrets, and production deployment workflows.

  • Nice to have - Service Mesh & Networking: Experience running services on Kubernetes, including ingress and gateway patterns, service-to-service security, and observability with tools such as Envoy Gateway, Linkerd, or similar platforms.
