The Role

We’re seeking a technology leader for a new product line that connects the consumer and their agent’s experience with a new suite of applications. You will lead a team of engineers across multiple frontend and backend tech stacks for the consumer products. 

The Senior Manager is a key technical influencer and contributor through all stages of the software development lifecycle. You will be able to make an impact, leveraging your highly developed leadership and collaboration abilities to execute on broad cross-organization initiatives, producing industry-leading solutions. You will be a partner in designing and delivering the best solution for our consumers and customers.

The charter of RMN team at http://Realtor.com is to build and deliver innovative solutions across the real-estate ecosystem that deepen relationships with industry players (namely MLS organizations), consumers, and brokers/agents. We build products that will change the experience of agents and consumers through the home buying journey. 

What will you be doing?

  • Guide engineering teams to rapidly deliver value to our consumers and customers through Agile incremental implementation with high quality
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, Product Managers, Analysts, Scientists, and Engineers, fostering a dynamic environment. Mentor, guide, and empower colleagues, fostering their growth and enabling them to exceed expectations.
  • Manage day-to-day operations around your product suite including coordinating mobile app releases, web delivery, backend deployments, and maintaining consistent product quality. 
  • Continually optimize our tools and practices cross-team and cross-organization to experiment faster and deliver value more quickly 
  • Build a high-performing culture built on trust, collaboration, goal attainment, and continuous improvement. Inspire and lead by example, championing best practices, enhancing quality, and driving speedy delivery.
  • Collaborate with technical leads and architects to define a technical roadmap and maintain the overall architectural integrity of the Move products
  • Build highly scalable experiences and services, and consumer-first frontend web and mobile applications
  • Motivate the team and enthusiastically rally them around delivering against a wide variety of organizational initiatives

What will you bring?

  • 8+ years experience or related work experience preferred and 3+ years leadership experience.
  • Experience leading engineering teams that deliver highly available, observable, resilient, scalable, and performant systems.
  • A strong results and outcome-driven focus, understanding the value derived from rapidly shipping code and learning/iterating on the results
  • Strong ability to coach and mentor engineers, helping them improve their skills and grow their careers
  • Knowledge of SQL, data structures, data integrity, schema design, and cloud platforms (AWS) best practices
  • Experience with web architectures (TypeScript, or JavaScript), and mobile architectures (Swift, Kotlin, Java or comparable Object Oriented language)
  • Hands-on experience with high-level design and familiarity with best practices and design patterns
  • A passion for learning, continuous improvement, sharing, and working in a team environment
  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
