Job Purpose: The Sr. Technical Implementation Specialist is the lead performer of the Implementation Services technical team responsible for system configurations, system testing, system-specific evaluation, client setup, administration, and operation of our hardware and software systems. The Sr. TIS will be responsible for performing multiple functions for moderately large and complex facilities; assist Field technicians remotely in the installation of routers, switches, cable modems, wireless access points, tablets, air fiber, firewalls, telephony/VOIP transport equipment and software etc.; as well as, engage telecom service providers to ensure test and turn-up activities are planned, implemented and completed as required for a successful project completion.
Essential Duties:
- Assist the Project Manager in the development, status, and tracking of implementation milestones
- Exercise independent judgment to tailor platform configurations to match customer workflows/requirements. Communicate resolution options to users and develop plans for resolution
- Generate and provide device configurations to Field Services Technicians and/or Technical Support for installations and break/fix resolutions as required, and including configuring firewalls/routers for future sites.
- Perform software updates and new releases (Tablet Kiosks, LDM Server, SLP Server, and Lobby/Booking Units),as well as develop scripts for tablet Firmware and Application package updates.
- Design network IP scope for future sites; create Staging & Kaseya entries as needed; and resolve ASA Network and possible Kiosk breaches, etc.
- Work on issues as assigned by the supervisor, and use exhaustive research to help resolve issues
- Identify and implement process and procedure improvement opportunities
- Perform validation reviews of fellow technicians to ensure quality is met, and product implementation is ready for production
- Provide leadership guidance, training, and mentorship for developing junior Technical Implementation Specialists
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Possess a good mix of Telecom and PC knowledge to perform large and complex voice/data telecommunications projects.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including being On-Call to meet implementation requirements after normal business hours, as well as troubleshooting efforts for high-priority outages and assisting escalations to determine the source of the problem and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
- Outstanding client-focused background, demonstrated experience working in a high-paced environment.
- Must have the ability to read a material list and make recommendations on hardware, cabling, and equipment requirements
- Extensive knowledge of MS Office Software Applications, especially Word, Excel, and Visio.
- Must be able to work well under pressure, capable of multitasking, be self-motivated, and have excellent verbal/written skills.
- Must be willing to work between 40 – 50 hours a week, when necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 10+ years. advanced experience in Voice & Data, Telecom Network & Design, and other applications for Cloud-Based systems; firewalls and an in-depth understanding of computer/network security concepts, VPNs, proxies, and networking, Linux OS, IPSEC, VPN, SSL, Orion, and/or Zabbix network management system monitoring
- Experience with Fortinet, Ubiquity, Wireless, Air Fiber, and Ruckus network solutions
- Experience analyzing network traffic, using a variety of network tools to assess security-related events to assist in rapid identification and isolation of issues during incidents and outages.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Expert knowledge of designing, deploying, and maintaining firewall security solutions.
- Experience with Rockets and Nano software and hardware solutions
- Certifications in: Adtran ASP, ATSA and ATSP, Ruckus Rex, MCSE, MCP, MCDBA, A+, Net+, or any Cisco certifications.
- CompTIA Network+ Certification
- Knowledge of QNX, Windows, and Linux OS as well as Sybase, SQL, and Oracle Database Management
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment.
- Occasionally, this position may need to reach, stoop, or kneel.
