At Databricks, Lakebase and Databricks Apps enable teams to build data-native applications where transactional data, analytics, and AI operate on the same platform. Lakebase provides a managed Postgres transactional layer for application state and operational workloads, while Databricks Apps supports building and deploying secure applications that run close to governed data and models.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Marketing Engineer to help developers and data teams design, build, and operate applications using Lakebase and Databricks Apps. This role focuses on building projects end-to-end and translating platform capabilities into clear, practical guidance through demos, reference architectures, and technical content.

This role reports to the Director of Technical Marketing and works closely with product, engineering, and field teams.

You will work closely with Lakebase and Databricks Apps product and engineering teams to validate application patterns and translate platform capabilities into practical guidance, partner with field engineering to build and scale customer-ready demos and workshops, and support application developers and data engineers as the primary audience, with a focus on Postgres-backed transactional workflows and data-native applications that combine operational data, analytics, and AI.

The impact you will have:

  • Build and maintain end-to-end demo applications using Lakebase and Databricks Apps, covering transactional workflows, application state, analytics, and AI integration.
  • Design and document reference architectures and application patterns that combine database semantics, analytics, and AI on the same data.
  • Tell a clear and compelling technical story through the applications you build, showing the developer experience, tradeoffs, and benefits of building data-native apps using Lakebase
  • Develop technical content such as blogs, videos, walkthroughs, and sample applications that explain both the architecture and the developer workflow.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to test new capabilities, validate application patterns, and provide feedback grounded in real usage.
  • Work with field engineering and product marketing to support launches, enablement, and customer-facing technical narratives.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly in customer meetings, analyst briefings, webinars, and conferences.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for application development use cases involving Lakebase and Databricks Apps.

What we look for:

  • 5+ years in technical marketing, software engineering, solutions architecture, or developer-focused product roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Postgres and transactional application patterns, schema design, indexing, migrations, and query tuning
  • Experience building and shipping applications with APIs and data access layers.
  • Strong SQL skills, Python experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern app stacks and deployment concepts
  • Strong writing and presentation skills for technical audiences.
  • Comfortable being customer-facing and self-directed across multiple workstreams.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related engineering practice

Nice to Have

  • Experience building internal or customer-facing data applications.
  • Familiarity with analytics, BI, or AI workloads integrated into applications.
  • Experience with governance, identity, and access control in application environments.
  • Prior field-facing or customer-enablement experience.
  • Databricks or cloud platform certifications.
