ABOUT SLATE

At Slate, we’re building safe, reliable vehicles that people can afford, personalize and love—and doing it here in the USA as part of our commitment to reindustrialization. The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Slate is looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager to help drive the programs that turn business strategy into working systems across Slate’s enterprise. You will partner with technical and functional teams to deliver system implementations, manage integrations, document and improve processes, and lead change management activities all while supporting the standardization of the Tech PMO tools and practices. You must be able to thrive and succeed in a fast-paced startup environment where your contributions have a direct impact on the company’s direction and success and should not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • You own end-to-end program delivery for enterprise technology initiatives including scoping, planning, risk management, status reporting, and stakeholder alignment across tech and business teams.
  • You partner with business, product, UX, and software engineering teams to align on priorities, inform the technology roadmap, and ensure cross-functional dependencies are identified and managed before they become blockers.
  • You manage the coordination of system integrations across Slate’s tech stack partnering with technical leads to ensure reliable, well-documented data flows.
  • You map, document, and continuously improve end-to-end business processes at the intersection of enterprise systems and operational workflows; identifying gaps, driving alignment, and implementing sustainable standards.
  • You develop and execute change management plans for new system deployments and process changes, including stakeholder communication, training coordination, and adoption tracking.
  • You support in building and maintaining PMO standards: templates, governance frameworks, meeting cadences, RAID log practices, and reporting structures used across the tech portfolio.
  • You facilitate recurring governance forums, own action item tracking, and produce executive-ready documentation that keeps leadership informed and programs on track.
  • You relentlessly simplify bringing structure to ambiguous, cross-functional work without creating bureaucracy.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • 5–7+ years of program or project management experience in enterprise IT, digital transformation, or technology implementation roles, ideally within manufacturing, automotive, or complex hardware environments.
  • Hands-on experience managing full-cycle implementations from requirements through hypercare.
  • Working knowledge of system integration patterns, API-based connectivity, and middleware concepts.  You don’t need to write the code, but you need to support the people who do.
  • Proven ability to produce and maintain process maps, SOPs, RACI matrices, and workflow documentation at a level of detail that enables training and audit.
  • Familiarity with structured change management approaches and experience applying them in technology rollouts.
  • Proficiency in program tracking tools (Smartsheet, Jira, or similar), documentation platforms (Confluence), and executive reporting formats. PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with DV/PV/SOP milestone structures, BOM management, or shop-floor operations is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
