Description:

SUMMARY

Lead and manage the planning, execution, and implementation of complex business and technology initiatives across Regional Health Ministries (RHMs). Serve as the primary liaison between local leadership, IT teams, and enterprise stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of strategic projects, operational initiatives, and technology programs.  Provides business relationship management to Regional Health Ministry. Serves as a liaison between Regional Health Ministry senior leaders across business areas and the IT organization and vendors in coordination with product managers to ensure program roadmaps meet operational constraints.

PURPOSE

Manages, leads, and facilitates all phases, processes and aspects of the development and implementation of complex, medium to large strategic business or technology projects, programs, or operational initiatives for a Regional Health Ministry (RHM) and Enterprise Service Line (i.e., Health Networks).   Serves as a point of contact for RHM for the implementation of enterprise projects, local projects, programs, or operating initiatives. Provides a thorough understanding and knowledge base of RHM/SO/Enterprise Service Line culture, workforce and internal relationships, business, technology, and leadership styles.  Effectively establish project and program plans to ensure successful implementation. Serves as a representative of the Planning and Integration Director and interfaces with local/regional RHM/SO/Enterprise Service Line Executive leaders and end users, TIS Teams and System Office Teams.  Responsible for defining project, program or initiative scope and objectives; managing cross functional team members and serving as lead consultant and communication resource with RHM/SO/Enterprise Service Line Executive leaders, customers, TIS Teams, System Office Teams and other cross-organizational teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and maintains extensive relationships across system office and RHM business and IT senior leaders. Responsible for maintaining effective communication on IT operating and strategic initiatives and performance. Applies advanced understanding and application of interpersonal communications to provide advice/counsel regarding standard matters requiring diplomacy, tact, listening and persuasion skills.
  • Managing the full project lifecycle, including intake, business requirements, scope definition, budgeting, forecasting, approvals, implementation, and financial reconciliation. 
  • Overseeing project and operational budgets, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring effective management of local IT investments, maintenance agreements, and professional services fees.
  • Facilitating cross-functional collaboration among business leaders, technology teams, and enterprise partners to resolve issues, manage risks, and deliver results.
  • Supporting project prioritization efforts with RHM leadership and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and enterprise strategies
  • Engages with Regional Health Ministry leadership in providing input related to operational plans from an IT perspective. Guides efforts to transform business strategies plans into specific TIS objectives, initiatives, investments and strategies and to coordinate alignment with TIS and Trinity Health's planning process
  • Providing leadership, mentoring, coaching, and training on project management, governance, and technology service processes while serving as an escalation point for critical initiatives when needed
  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
  • Serves in an advisory role, inspiring and initiating new ideas, determining and developing strategies/processes often in the absence of guidelines or technical assistance. Evaluates and directs complex systems that foster innovative approaches to procedures/processes on an organizational-wide basis focusing on critical strategic issues.
  • Serves as a change leader across business lines to operationalize strategic initiatives. Leads development and execution of processes, governance, measures and behaviors to effectively manage change. Provides coaching support to various IT and Business leaders to achieve IT transformation outcomes. Under general direction provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to subordinate groups. Participates in the development and management of, and has direct impact upon, budgeting, cost control, planning, scheduling, procedural change and related activities. Supports and embraces continual change to improve organizational performance and to better serve customers. Models the use of change management tools and techniques to facilitate change. Builds and provides coaching around the development of action plans that support change initiatives. Collaborates with peers to implement change across area/departments/ business units.
  • Research best business practices within the organization and across the healthcare industry to establish benchmark data.
  • Drives decisions of cross-functional stakeholder groups using quantitative IT and business operations data. Responsible for leading operational initiatives to improve IT organization's efficiency and achieve business outcomes.
  • Leads facilitation, develops content, best practice and monitors progress for multiple IT Centers of Excellence. Identifies business opportunities for improvement or exploration (IT strategy, new technologies, etc.) and develops business plan proposals.
