As Avion continues to grow its portfolio of hotels across the country, we are excited to add a Staff Accountant to our corporate Accounting team. This role will support the financial performance and reporting of multiple hotel properties, partnering closely with property leaders, corporate Accounting, and ownership groups. It’s a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys digging into the details while also understanding the bigger financial picture.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the preparation, reconciliation, and analysis of monthly financial statements for multiple hotel properties, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Perform account and balance sheet reconciliations and research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Support an accurate and timely monthly and annual financial close process.
  • Review financial activity for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
  • Help ensure internal and external financial reporting deadlines are consistently met.
  • Assist with financial analysis and explanations provided to hotel ownership groups.
  • Prepare supporting schedules, documentation, and analysis for annual audits.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records while ensuring the integrity of accounting data.
  • Partner with property management teams and corporate departments to research transactions, resolve questions, and improve financial accuracy.
  • Identify unusual trends, variances, or discrepancies and assist in determining appropriate resolution.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis as needed.
  • Participate in special projects, process improvements, system implementations, and other initiatives as Avion continues to grow and evolve.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive financial information with a high degree of integrity and professionalism.

Requirements

 What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Hospitality, hotel accounting, or multi-unit real estate experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, or analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple properties, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Ability to learn new accounting systems and technology quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively partner with corporate departments, hotel leadership teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
