We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing team.

 

Staff Accountant

Summary

 

The Staff Accountant will oversee all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with government contract regulations, company policies, and applicable accounting standards. This role consists of hands-on accounting supporting both daily operations and long-term growth. The ideal candidate has experience in government contracting (FAR/DFARS, CAS) and thrives in a dynamic small-business environment.

Responsibilities

    • Manage daily and monthly accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, budgeting, accruals, and financial reporting.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Maintain DCAA-compliant accounting systems and ensure accurate cost accounting and indirect rate calculations.
    • Oversee project cost tracking, billing, and revenue recognition in accordance with contract terms.
    • Assist in developing and monitoring budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal regulations (FAR/DFARS).
    • Support proposal pricing, cost-volume development, and indirect rate preparation.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
    • 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience; Experience in a government contracting environment is a nice to have.
    • Knowledge of GAAP, FAR, DFARS, and Cost Accounting Standards.
    • Experience with Deltek Costpoint is preferred
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
