Who You Are

Spot & Tango is looking for a Staff Accountant to support our NY HQ team! In this role, you will report directly to our Controller. You will take ownership of day-to-day accounts payable and cash processes, while also supporting month-end close and audit readiness. This is a detail-driven role in a high-growth environment, ideal for someone who wants to strengthen core accounting skills and gain exposure to a scaling finance function.

Responsibilities

• Manage the accounting inbox and act as the primary point of contact for vendor communications
• Timely and accurate processing of bills and cash transactions
• Support the month-end financial close process, including owning specific monthly journal entries and cash / credit card review and reconciliation
• Assist with audit requests and documentation, working closely with the accounting team
• Support the broader finance and accounting team on an as needed basis

Requirements 

• BA/BS in Accounting or related field
• 2–4 years of experience in accounts payable, accounting operations, or similar role
• Preference to work in a dynamic, high-growth startup environment
• Experience with Excel and ERP systems, Netsuite preferred but not required
• Solid understanding of US GAAP concepts and financial reporting
• Clear communication style and ability to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors
