Staff Accountant

 AssetWorks – Fleet Division

THE POSITION

We are looking for an ambitious Staff Accountant to join our team and provide support to the Finance department by managing various accounting tasks.  Reporting to the Controller, this is a backfill position to meet the growing needs of AssetWorks’ largest division.  The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and terminology and able to work comfortably with numbers with the required attention to detail.  You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain accuracy and transparency for the company’s financial results. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist with various month-end close activities.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries into our accounting software (Certinia).
  • Prepare monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations (Cash, prepaid expenses, prepaid rent, accounts payable, deposits, fixed assets, accrued expenses, etc.).
  • Prepare financial analysis for the P&L and Balance sheet as part of month-end close.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts.
  • Prepare sales and use tax on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
  • Assist with internal/external audit requests.
  • Ad hoc reporting requests and financial analysis
  • Review and post cash receipts & disbursements daily.
  • Prepare ACHs & Wires in bank accounts.
  • Accounts payable processing and vendor management tasks
  • Assist with completing quarterly notes disclosures.
  • Upload account reconciliations into Blackline for review and approval on a monthly basis.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
  • Experience with Salesforce/Certinia is a plus.
