This is a remote position.
Our client is looking for a Full-Time Staff Accountant to support the accuracy and efficiency of their accounting operations. Over the past several years, they have built a trusted reputation in the real estate and property management industry, providing reliable, client-focused services that blend financial expertise with operational excellence.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing trust and corporate accounting functions, handling reconciliations, financial reporting, and maintaining organized, transparent financial records. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with both property and corporate accounting teams, contributing to the overall financial integrity and growth of the organization.
Oversee daily trust and corporate accounting workflows, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Manage rental income processes, from tenant payments through to owner distributions, verifying all transactions are recorded promptly and correctly.
Perform property ledger reconciliations and cross-check with third-party accounting data in Propertyware.
Assist in delinquency tracking and collections management, maintaining accurate tenant payment records.
Handle accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) for corporate transactions.
Reconcile financial data in QuickBooks, ensuring alignment with third-party systems.
Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to support leadership decision-making.
Support payroll processing and related administrative tasks.
Respond professionally to accounting-related inquiries from clients, tenants, and internal teams.
Maintain organized, audit-ready financial documentation for trust and corporate accounts.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At least 2 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate.
Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and best practices in trust and corporate accounting.
Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting/reporting tools.
Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and accuracy in data management.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Experience handling both trust and corporate accounting functions.
Familiarity with Propertyware or other property management software is a plus.
Strong understanding of reconciliations, collections, and cash flow management.
High level of integrity and professionalism when managing sensitive financial data.
Ability to interpret, prepare, and present financial reports clearly and confidently.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying and resolving discrepancies.
