Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and operate cloud-based infrastructure, with a focus on Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD methodologies
  • Exert technical influence to improve the reliability and performance of our products and systems
  • Assist Product Engineering teams in building out infrastructure for prototypes and other Research & Development efforts
  • Operate development and high-availability production environments in Amazon Web Services
  • Coach and mentor other engineers and teams on cloud best practices
  • Work collaboratively with other staff including product managers, data scientists, other data analysts, architects to solve problems, develop innovative approaches, and provide project status

Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent industry technical skills
  • 5+ years of work experience in a SaaS production environment, ideally Enterprise
  • Experience in building scalable platform software using Kubernetes, Docker, and other Cloud native technologies
  • Strong experience using public cloud providers, preferably AWS
  • Strong understanding of networking and security fundamentals
  • Comfort with Linux system administration and scripting, e.g. Python, Shell
  • Experience with designing, analyzing and solving problems for large-scale distributed systems
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills, able to convey technical concepts and architectures across a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams, with an emphasis on strong written communication for asynchronous collaboration
  • Experience with monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing data/ai/ml pipelines for reliability and performance
  • Exposure to Predictive Models and ML training & Serving systems 
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000 - $250,000 . Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan. In addition, some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, company and employee performance.
