Join Vetcove and help modernize the future of veterinary software and the pet parent healthcare experience. Our suite of platforms features a market-leading procurement marketplace, an ultra-modern home delivery ecommerce experience, and a next-generation practice management system. More than 25,000 hospitals across all 50 states rely on Vetcove daily, supporting tens of thousands of veterinarians who care for tens of millions of pets each year.

We are modernizing the 50 billion dollar plus animal health industry by giving veterinary organizations the tools to focus more on patient care. Backed by Y Combinator and top venture investors in Silicon Valley, New York and Miami, Vetcove is a fast-growing, mission-driven company. We are searching for talented and passionate people who want to help shape the future of veterinary care.

What we are looking for:

We believe there are a couple traits that will make you perfect for this role:

  • You have an extraordinary attention to detail. Every pixel matters to you.

  • You love React, and love building new React components. You have several years experience working with React and using the latest React features.

  • Advanced CSS skills — you can build rich UI interactions using CSS alone, and you understand how to keep styles scalable and performant.

  • Design-forward mindset — you stay curious about emerging UI patterns, animation techniques, and interaction trends.

  • A passion for pets is always a big plus, but certainly not required!

  • Someone who is comfortable working in a fully remote environment!

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate closely with product designers in designing new features

  • Bring Figma designs to life by implementing modular, reusable React components

  • Implement interactions using highly flexible and performant CSS code

  • Experiment with animations and micro-interactions that are best prototyped through code

  • Work closely with the front end engineering team to bridge front end logic with design

You should have:

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • At least 3 years of professional frontend or software engineering experience, including meaningful work on a production-scale React application and hands-on use of modern React features such as hooks, context, and component composition. Experience collaborating with product designers is also important.

  • Experience turning Figma designs into clean, accurate, and production-ready UI. This includes building modular and reusable component patterns, ensuring pixel-level precision, and implementing responsive layouts that adapt across screen sizes.

  • Strong CSS skills with a track record of building complex UI interactions using CSS animations, transitions, layout systems, and performance-oriented styling practices. Experience contributing to or working within a component library or design system is a plus.

  • Solid understanding of modern JavaScript fundamentals, including asynchronous patterns, core language concepts, and best practices for structuring React components and managing state.

  • Familiarity with practical accessibility standards, such as semantic HTML, keyboard navigation support, ARIA usage, motion/animation considerations, and color/contrast basics.

  • Examples of previous work—such as a portfolio, GitHub repository, component library, or code samples—that demonstrate your approach to UI development, attention to detail, and proficiency with React and CSS.
