US Mobile is on a mission to revolutionize connectivity. Imagine a world where you can go into a single app and buy terabytes of data for every one of your devices: phone, smart devices, car, home broadband, and more. That’s the future that US Mobile is building: a software platform built truly for the 21st century and the age of 5G and IoT, with world class engineering, best-in-class user experience, and features that will define the next generation of connectivity.

US Mobile is America's first and only Super Carrier, allowing customers to access all three major mobile networks & switch seamlessly between them, anytime, anywhere, to get the best coverage possible. We're #1 Phone Plan Provider on Consumer Reports (not bought), and Jack Dorsey unsolicitedly tweeted about us :'). "US Mobile is very good."

US Mobile is growing faster than any carrier in the US right now. We're a venture-backed company entering hyper growth-- we make $200M in ARR with over 100% year-over-year growth, with a budget for advertising this year to finally put us on the mainstream map: SuperBowl Ad, commercials, etc. We're also < 90 person startup and cash-flow positive, so your equity is already worth real dollars in the secondary market (and growing!).

Our work this year is simplifying our web + mobile apps and main marketing page. We've contracted an amazing, reputable design agency (COLLINS) to produce Brand Guidelines ahead of our marketing strategy. Product Design will build out new components for web + mobile, and marketing pages.

We're looking for designers to maintain and advocate for consistent, high quality bar + culture; contribute to new components; lead the marketing page, web app, or ongoing core features. 6+ YOE tech startups, multiple shipped features, advocate for mindful design + efficient EPD process.

Your work includes

  • Experience working on consumer facing technology.
  • Speciality in Visual & Interaction Design -- Creating new components and redesigned app for Mobile
  • Core features: AI CS; Security; Growth; Roaming; Shop; UX improvements. Design these features with great IA & UX, working within an incomplete and undocumented design library. (I/we'll build out new Design Library for 2026.)
  • New Desktop Web App (Rebranded components post-COLLINS, UX upgrades)
  • New Marketing Pages (Rebranded components, IA, UX upgrades)
  • Contribute / Help Build New Design Library (web, mobile, marketing pages) post-rebrand
  • Design Ops: Rituals and Culture to increase the velocity of the design team
  • Design Culture: Rituals and Culture to increase mindful EPD collaboration
  • Mentorship of Design Team (upskilling, efficient systems)

Requirements

  • Autonomously advocate for real user needs, business strategy, and a consistent and easeful experience for users throughout the whole product lifecycle process.
  • Explain pros / cons of ideas based on research, user data, or other reasoning. Vocal on strategy, biz acumen, and empathy for users. Estimate design time when tasked on multiple projects.
  • Autonomously ship features from 0 - 1 with high bar for IA, UX, UI, final visuals.

Design Team

  • 1 Product Design Lead (Remote, me)
  • 3 Product Designers (Remote, 2 NYC)
  • 1 Brand Designer (Remote)
  • 2 Staff/Senior Product Designers (hiring)
  • 2 Staff/Senior Brand Designers (hiring)

Benefits and Perks

  • Annual Offsite to hack & meet the team. 2024 Japan. 2025 Hawaii.
  • Competitive Salary (NYC ONLY base $150k - 180k)
  • Gym reimbursement
  • Commute reimbursement
  • Flexible working hours
  • Subsidized health benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision)
  • Professional development stipend
  • Flexible time off
