Finance

Incline Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant / Manager to join its Finance team. This role is responsible for preparing and overseeing statutory financial reporting for multiple insurance entities, ensuring compliance with NAIC Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), and supporting regulatory reporting, statutory audits, and financial reporting initiatives. Depending on experience, this position may provide leadership and oversight for statutory reporting processes while partnering closely with Accounting, Actuarial, Tax, and other cross-functional teams to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.

 

About the Finance Team

Incline's Finance team is responsible for financial reporting, accounting, regulatory compliance, and financial operations across the organization's insurance entities. Working closely with Accounting, Actuarial, Tax, Reinsurance, and business leadership, the team delivers accurate financial information that supports regulatory compliance, strategic decision-making, and continued business growth.

 

The Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant / Manager plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the Company's statutory financial reporting while helping enhance reporting processes, internal controls, and operational efficiency.

 

What You'll Do

As the Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant / Manager, you will prepare and oversee statutory financial reporting activities, coordinate audit support, and partner across the organization to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant regulatory reporting. Depending on experience, this role may also provide leadership for statutory reporting processes and mentor less experienced team members.

 

Statutory Financial Reporting: Prepare and review quarterly, annual, and ad hoc statutory financial statements and regulatory filings for multiple insurance entities. Ensure reporting complies with NAIC Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) and applicable regulatory requirements. Prepare supporting schedules, workpapers, and documentation supporting statutory financial reporting. Maintain the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of statutory reporting data and disclosures.

 

Regulatory Compliance & Audit Support: Coordinate and support annual statutory audits and group audit activities. Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and responses to auditor requests. Assist with regulatory examinations, inquiries, and other compliance-related requests. Research, interpret, and implement new statutory accounting guidance and reporting requirements.

 

Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with Accounting, Actuarial, Tax, Reinsurance, and other business teams to gather information necessary for statutory reporting. Collaborate across Finance to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness of financial information. Support reporting initiatives related to new business, acquisitions, and organizational growth.

 

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence: Identify opportunities to improve statutory reporting processes, internal controls, and documentation.  Support automation and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy. Participate in special projects and other financial reporting initiatives as assigned. Depending on experience, provide leadership on reporting initiatives and mentor less experienced team members.

 

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong statutory reporting expertise who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced insurance environment.

 

Experience: 5–8+ years of accounting, financial reporting, or statutory reporting experience. Property & Casualty insurance statutory accounting experience required. Experience preparing statutory financial statements and regulatory filings for insurance entities. Experience supporting statutory audits and regulatory reporting activities. Prior experience leading projects, improving reporting processes, or mentoring team members is preferred.

 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation or CPA candidate preferred.

 

Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of NAIC Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP). Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with Workday Financials and Sovos preferred. Experience working in a multi-entity insurance environment preferred.

Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting competing deadlines. Demonstrated ability to lead projects, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and drive process improvements. Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on enhancing reporting processes and internal controls.

 

Location

Our preference is for this role to be based in Austin, TX and operate within a hybrid work model. However, we're open to considering highly qualified remote candidates who can effectively collaborate across teams and support the needs of the business.
