The Account Director role is a senior, high-impact leadership role responsible for one or more large, complex enterprise partnerships.


This role functions as a player / coach and general manager for the strategic  account(s)  — accountable for partnership strategy, executive relationships, program success, commercial outcomes, and long-term growth.The Account Director leads a  dedicated cross-functional account team and serves as Thrive’s senior point of contact for key account stakeholders across regions and functions.


This role may manage program and delivery roles, including Program Managers and Wellness Coordinators.

The Account Director works cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Content, Marketing, Coaching, and Executive Leadership to ensure Thrive delivers exceptional value, measurable outcomes, and continued expansion.


What You’ll Do:

Strategic Partnership Ownership
  • Own the overall health, success, and growth of Thrive’s strategic enterprise accounts.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior account stakeholders, building deep relationships across HR, Wellbeing, Benefits, Learning, and regional leadership.
  • Shape and evolve the long-term partnership strategy, aligning Thrive’s offerings to business priorities and workforce needs of enterprise customers.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex issues, ensuring swift resolution and preservation of trust.
Player / Coach Leadership
  • Lead a dedicated account pod, providing direction, coaching, and prioritization across program and delivery functions.
  • Support the Wellness Coordinator in leading and developing a global team of Wellness Coordinators, ensuring consistency, quality, and local relevance across regions.
  • Stay hands-on with key initiatives, executive engagements, and high-visibility moments — balancing strategy with execution.
Program & Delivery Excellence
  • Partner closely with the Program Manager to ensure flawless execution, operational rigor, and alignment between strategy and delivery.
  • Oversee major program milestones, enterprise-scale campaigns, and outcome-driven Business Reviews.
  • Ensure programs are delivered with high quality, consistency, and measurable impact across complex, distributed employee populations.
  • Own retention, renewal readiness, and expansion strategy for strategic enterprise accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Thrive’s footprint across regions, business units, and solution areas.
  • Act as the voice of the customer partnership internally, synthesizing insights and feedback to inform Product, Content, Coaching, and GTM strategy.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to surface feature needs, pilot opportunities, and innovation initiatives relevant to the customer.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Content teams to support thought leadership, storytelling, and customer advocacy efforts (with permission).
  • Ensure the partnership is grounded in clear success metrics, data-driven insights, and outcome storytelling.
  • Use engagement, utilization, and impact data to guide strategy, optimize programs, and demonstrate ROI to stakeholders.
  • Continuously refine engagement models to meet the needs of large, matrixed enterprise environments.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 8–10+ years of experience in customer success, account management, partnerships, consulting, or related client-facing roles within SaaS, technology, or enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience owning and growing large, complex, global enterprise accounts.
  • Prior experience in a player / coach or pod-leadership model, managing both direct reports and indirect teams.
  • Strong background in program strategy or large-scale employee engagement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with senior executives and influence across matrixed organizations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; highly skilled in executive-ready storytelling and presentations.
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills, with the ability to balance long-term strategy and day-to-day execution.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Content, Product and Engineering teams.
  • Willingness to travel for key stakeholder meetings and strategic moments, as needed.

Compensation:

Base compensation for this role will likely fall in the $150,000-$175,000 range.

  • Please note: We provide a competitive mix of salary, performance bonus, and equity. The final offer amount will depend on factors like experience, expertise, and may differ from the range above. This range also excludes additional benefits, such as 401(k), and medical, dental, or vision insurance.
