Description

At Solidus, we are shaping the financial markets of tomorrow with cutting-edge trading surveillance and risk management solutions that protect investors, enhance transparency, and ensure regulatory compliance across traditional financial assets and crypto markets.

Strategic relationship-building with financial executives, policymakers, and legal and compliance leaders sits at the heart of Solidus’ growth. We are seeking a self-driven, strategic and operationally focused Strategic Business Development Manager to partner closely with our co-founders and leadership in order to strengthen, structure, and maximize the value of Solidus’ most important relationships.

This role will work cross-functionally with leadership, marketing and sales to drive alignment and ensure executive-level business development efforts are effectively integrated across our go-to-market strategy.

Reporting to Solidus’ Co-founder and Chief External Affairs Officer, this position involves occasional domestic and international travel, along with regular participation in high-stakes meetings across both internal and external stakeholders.

As a fast-moving and dynamic company, Solidus values team members who are flexible and willing to step in and support evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Relationship Intelligence and Strategy

  • Own, design and execute a strategy - partnering with Solidus leadership and GTM teams, to effectively leverage strategic relationships to generate conversations and drive deal outcomes
  • Map and maintain a comprehensive view of Solidus's strategic relationships across target logos, prospective clients, industry leaders, financial policymakers and regulators - relationship depth, last touchpoint, active opportunities, and recommended actions
  • Identify gaps, dormant relationships, and untapped connections across our network and implement processes to optimize future opportunities
  • Capture and communicate insights from key meetings to stakeholders across the organization

Pipeline Discipline

  • Convert conversations and introductions into a structured, prioritized, and actionable pipeline
  • Own follow-up cadence to ensure timely and consistent progression of opportunities across conferences, meetings, and warm introductions
  • Partner with BizOps, marketing, sales and policy teams to build and maintain a strategic relationship CRM framework that aligns with the broader GTM motion

Meeting and Event Support

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute business development efforts at industry events and conferences
  • Support the planning and execution of Solidus-hosted events
  • Prepare and optimize high-value meetings, including high-stakes engagements with elected officials, C-level executives, and media figures
  • Capture key outcomes, define next steps, and drive follow-through after events and meetings
Requirements

What you bring:

  • 2-5 years of experience in business development, strategy, chief of staff, or relationship management roles, ideally supporting a senior executive or founder
  • Strong ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments, with a track record of driving outcomes with minimal oversight
  • Excellent written communication skills - clear, concise, and requiring minimal editing
  • A blend of strong interpersonal and operational capabilities: able to build relationships and “read the room,” while also effectively managing data, workflows, and CRM systems
  • Experience with HubSpot, particularly in building and managing business development workflows, is a plus
  • Exposure to capital markets, crypto, or similarly complex domains - or a demonstrated ability to quickly ramp in technical industries
  • Experience in regulatory, policy, legal, or compliance environments is a plus

Benefits:

The final salary offered will be determined based on relative experience, skills, and location. In addition to base pay, Solidus Labs offers equity, unlimited PTO and a generous total rewards program, including $0 monthly health insurance premiums for you and your family, a robust 401K match program, and perks like ClassPass, One Medical and Talkspace subscriptions.
