JOB SUMMARY

The Strategic Market Development Manager identifies and initiates relationships with executive-level stakeholders at prospective enterprise accounts. This role focuses on outbound prospecting efforts, engaging decision-makers, and nurturing early-stage opportunities to hand off to quota-carrying sales executives. Operating independently, the Strategic Market Development Manager brings deep market knowledge, executive presence, and strategic insight to open doors and position Higher Logic for long-term success. This is a senior individual contributor role without direct revenue targets but with a critical impact on top-of-funnel pipeline generation.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

· 

  • Research and identify strategic enterprise accounts with high potential for Higher Logic solutions.
  • Initiate executive-level conversations that uncover business priorities, challenges, and alignment opportunities.
  • Develop customized outreach strategies to engage senior stakeholders and secure discovery meetings.
  • Build long-term relationships with prospective clients to position Higher Logic as a trusted partner.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to refine messaging and engagement tactics.
  • Track and document all interactions in CRM systems and report regularly on outreach progress.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and prospect behavior to inform outreach.
  • Transition qualified opportunities to appropriate sales team members for pursuit.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with Higher Logic policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

·         Strong executive presence and communication skills across channels and formats.·         Proven ability to develop and execute account-based prospecting strategies.·         Comfortable initiating conversations with C-level and senior leadership at large organizations.·         Self-starter with high emotional intelligence, professional curiosity, and business acumen.·         Excellent organization, time management, and reporting skills.·         Familiarity with CRM tools and sales engagement platforms.
