About Ridgeline

Ridgeline is the first front-to-back system of record for investment managers. Founded by visionary entrepreneur Dave Duffield (co-founder of both PeopleSoft and Workday), the company was created to modernize an industry held back by outdated, disconnected technology. Powered by a single, real-time data set and embedded AI, Ridgeline helps firms automate complexity, accelerate collaboration, and deliver tailored client experiences at scale, without added headcount or risk. Ridgeline is headquartered in Lake Tahoe, with offices in New York, Reno, and the Bay Area, and is recognized by Fast Company as a “Best Workplace for Innovators,” by Frost & Sullivan as a “Technology Innovation Leader,” and by The Software Report as a “Top 100 Software Company.”

Why this role exists

Ridgeline is growing into relationships with some of the largest and most complex organizations in investment management. As a Strategic Sales Executive, you will open and lead these relationships at the most senior levels of the client organization, working alongside solutions consultants, partners, and leaders across Ridgeline. It is a new and visible motion for the company, with real opportunity to shape how we approach it.

What success looks like

Within your first year, you will have established credible relationships with senior stakeholders at your priority accounts, built a clear multi-year plan for each, and created real momentum toward a contract decision. You will be known as a trusted partner by clients and colleagues alike.

What you'll do
  • Identify, pursue, and open new strategic accounts at large financial institutions through prospecting and strategic planning.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior executives and a broad range of stakeholders across the client organization, adapting your style to each.
  • Lead executive conversations around business outcomes such as growing revenue, lowering cost, and launching new products.
  • Develop and execute multi-year strategic account plans that carry an opportunity through strategy, evaluation, and implementation planning.
  • Orchestrate internal and external resources, including solutions consultants, partners, and executive sponsors, to move complex opportunities forward.
  • Navigate formal procurement and approval processes with patience and precision, delivering a high-touch experience at every interaction.
  • Travel extensively to meet clients and partners wherever the influence sits.
What we look for
  • 10+ years of direct experience selling complex software into large, process-driven organizations such as large financial institutions, government, or higher education.
  • A track record as a hunter: you’ve personally opened and won large accounts rather than managing or expanding existing relationships.
  • Experience closing large, multi-year deals with many stakeholders and formal evaluation processes.
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence and humility: you build trust quickly, learn fast, are comfortable saying “I don’t know,” and bring in the right people to help.
  • The range to connect with very different stakeholders, from senior executives to operational teams.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high-touch approach to every client interaction.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
  • Strong drive and genuine enthusiasm for Ridgeline and for building something new.
Compensation & Benefits

The cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $400,000 - $460,000 OTE. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amount listed above.

As an employee at Ridgeline, you’ll have many opportunities for advancement in your career and can make a true impact on the product.

In addition to the base salary, Ridgeline employees can participate in our Company Stock Plan subject to the applicable Stock Option Agreement. We also offer rich benefits that reflect the kind of organization we want to be: one in which our employees feel valued and are inspired to bring their best selves to work. These include unlimited vacation, educational and wellness reimbursements, and $0 cost employee insurance plans.
