About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Strategic Sourcer to join our Finance organization, supporting the sourcing and procurement of critical infrastructure and technology for our rapidly scaling AI Factory environment.

This role bridges finance, engineering, and operations, ensuring that sourcing strategies align with both technical requirements and business objectives. The Strategic Sourcer will partner across all departments — from Infrastructure Operations and Engineering to Legal and FP&A — to evaluate vendors, negotiate agreements, optimize costs, and secure high-performance, scalable solutions that fuel AI innovation.

The ideal candidate brings strong commercial acumen, deep understanding of technology supply chains (servers, GPUs, networking, colocation, etc.), and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Lead sourcing strategy for AI Factory infrastructure — including compute, networking, data center, and software components.

  • Develop long-term vendor relationships that align with performance, cost, and reliability goals.

  • Negotiate contracts, service agreements, and renewals in coordination with Legal and Finance.

  • Maintain a clear understanding of total cost of ownership (TCO), including logistics, support, and operational lifecycle costs.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with Infrastructure Operations, Data Center Operations, and Network Engineering to understand technical specifications and demand forecasts.

  • Work with Finance and FP&A to align sourcing decisions with capital and operating budgets

  • Partner with Program Management and Executive Leadership to anticipate resource needs across multiple AI factory projects.

  • Participate in cross-departmental sourcing reviews, providing transparency and alignment on supply and spend.

Financial and Risk Analysis

  • Build and maintain sourcing models and spend forecasts to optimize cash flow and capital allocation.

  • Evaluate supplier risk, cost variability, and lead-time exposure to inform strategic purchasing decisions.

  • Drive initiatives for cost reduction, standardization, and procurement automation.

Market Intelligence & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay ahead of trends in AI infrastructure supply chains, including GPUs, high-density compute, power systems, and networking components.

  • Evaluate emerging vendors, technologies, and sourcing models that can drive competitive advantage.

  • Develop and refine sourcing processes that enhance efficiency, compliance, and cross-functional coordination.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure sourcing activities align with corporate policies, ESG principles, and supplier diversity goals.

  • Support internal audits and financial reporting requirements related to procurement activities.

  • Maintain organized documentation and dashboards for sourcing pipeline, vendor performance, and contract lifecycle management.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain — preferably in technology, infrastructure, or AI/HPC environments.

  • Strong understanding of data center hardware, cloud, and network components, including GPUs, storage, and compute systems.

  • Demonstrated success in contract negotiation, vendor management, and financial analysis.

  • Proven ability to operate cross-functionally in high-growth, technical environments.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills — able to interface with engineers, finance leaders, and executives.

  • 40-50% travel required

Preferred:

  • Experience sourcing for AI, ML, or high-performance compute (HPC) infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with ERP and procurement systems (e.g., Coupa, SAP, NetSuite).

  • Exposure to international supply chains and large-scale capital sourcing programs.

  • Degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering.

Key Attributes for Success
  • Analytical Thinker: Able to balance technical requirements with financial discipline.

  • Relationship Builder: Builds trust across engineering, operations, and finance.

  • Strategic Partner: Anticipates sourcing needs aligned to company growth and AI deployment goals.

  • Negotiator & Influencer: Delivers value through proactive negotiation and partnership.

  • Operationally Grounded: Understands the urgency and complexity of AI Factory environments.

Why This Role Matters

The Strategic Sourcer sits at the intersection of finance and innovation, ensuring that the infrastructure powering our AI workloads is cost-effective, resilient, and future-ready. By enabling efficient, data-driven procurement, this role directly contributes to the scalability and competitiveness of the AI Factory platform.
