The Strategy & Corporate Development Manager plays a critical role in shaping DISCO’s strategy by guiding the strategic direction of our products and services by developing business cases, conducting detailed investment analytics, and monitoring key product metrics. They ensure data driven decisions that maximize ROI, align with organizational priorities, and support the long term success of DISCO. 
What You'll Do
  • Business Case Development: Develops and presents data driven business cases for new product initiatives, enhancement, investments, including financial models, cost benefit analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Strategy Framework Development: Supports the development and implementation of best practice strategic frameworks (SWOT, Porter’s Five Forces, Build vs Buy assessment) and supporting measurements. 
  • Strategy Documentation: Prepares, updates, and maintains comprehensive materials (slides, internal documents) that articulate the core DISCO business strategy and various "big bet" initiatives for consumption by the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Board.
  • Strategy Development: Supports SLT and other functional leaders in the development of next-level articulation of strategies at the department level or for key strategic opportunities.  This role is more about supporting others than ownership of the strategy.
  • Investment Analytics: Collaborates to develop the investment rubric with VP, Strategy and SLT. Runs initial analyses of M&A opportunities against framework to provide recommendations for new investments.
  • Investment Landscape Research: Monitors the venture capital and private equity landscape for emerging trends, funding activities, and innovative startups that could be acquisition or investment targets. Researches markets and competitors to produce financial, industry and market intelligence to inform investment framework and decision making.
  • Product Metrics and KPIs: Defines, tracks, and reports on key product metrics (adoption, retention, revenue growth) to measure performance and inform decision making.
  • Market Analysis: In conjunction with product marketing, conducts ongoing analysis of industry trends, technological advancements, customer behaviors and competitive landscape to inform business strategy. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborates with SLT, finance and relevant stakeholders, as well as investment bankers to analyze deal opportunities against strategic framework. 
  • Due Diligence Support: Coordinates and manages the data room process during the early stages of due diligence, gathering necessary documentation from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Presentation Preparation: Develops executive-level presentations summarizing target company profiles, strategic rationale, and potential deal impacts for review by the SLT.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Economics or Finance, Master’s preferred
  • 7-10+ years experience in product strategy, business case development, or investment analytics preferably within the technology or software space.
  • Knowledge of the models and best practices for selling software to business customers.
  • Experience working for a management consulting firm or part of a corporate strategy team with experience partnering with other teams and leaders to support the development and communication of their strategy.
  • Advanced financial modeling and forecasting skills using excel, sql or similar platforms
  • Proficient in product analytics tools and KPI measurement frameworks 
  • Proficient in ROI analysis, cost-benefit modeling, and portfolio management
    Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex data into understandable insights 
  • Ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to drive actionable insights and recommendations
