💻 Role

The Logistics Strategy & Operations team is responsible for making shipping a trusted, strategic lever for Whatnot’s buyers and sellers. In this role, you will:

  • Build and lead the Carrier Ops function — establishing the operating model and cross-functional partnerships that enable scalable, high-quality logistics across all of Whatnot’s markets

  • Own carrier performance and pricing health — monitoring key metrics, managing rate structures, and driving accountability with external carrier partners

  • Lead operational response to shipping disruptions — building the processes and playbooks that ensure fast, reliable resolution for buyers and sellers

  • Inform carrier strategy and product roadmap — identifying opportunities by market and bringing prioritized operational gaps to Product and Engineering

  • Partner with senior leaders across BD, Finance, Product, and Operations to advance Whatnot’s shipping vision: competitive pricing, reliable delivery, and healthy unit economics at scale

Team members in this role are required to be within commuting distance of our New York, San Francisco, Phoenix, or Los Angeles hubs.

👋 You

Curious about who thrives at Whatnot? We’ve found that low ego, a growth mindset, and leaning into action and high impact goes a long way here. • Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or carrier operations — with a track record of building and scaling programs in high-growth, fast-moving environments

  • Deep understanding of carrier economics, shipping operations, and the complexity of managing logistics across multiple markets and partners

  • Strong process and systems thinker — you identify inefficiencies, build scalable operating models, and default to repeatable systems over one-off solutions

  • Excellent cross-functional skills, with the ability to influence and align across Product, Engineering, Business Development, Finance, and Operations

  • Strong analytical judgment; proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, with SQL or analytics platform experience (e.g., Looker, Sigma, Hex) a plus

  • Monthly allowance to dogfood the app

    • All Whatnauts are expected to develop a deep understanding of our product. We're passionate about building the best user experience, and all employees are expected to use Whatnot as both a buyer and a seller as part of their job (our dogfooding budget makes this fun and easy!).

  • Parental Leave

    • 16 weeks of paid parental leave + one month gradual return to work *company leave allowances run concurrently with country leave requirements which take precedence.
