We are seeking a Strategy & Ops Associate to join eBay's new Finance Innovation & Transformation organization (FIT). Reporting into FIT’s Strategy & Ops Lead, this role will partner closely with Finance teams to enable intelligent automation and process efficiencies through strong finance process design, systems partnership, and governance alignment.

This is a hands-on role and contributes directly to high-impact FIT initiatives and CFO goals by supporting finance process standardization, systems integration, and cross-functional execution in partnership with Finance, Technology, Data Analytics, and other key partners in the business.

The role requires strong skills in strategy, operations, project management, change management, and communication to execute optimally in a matrixed, global environment. The ability to balance overall big-picture strategy and strong attention to detail is needed to thrive in this new org.

In addition to critical thinking, analytical skills, and delivery rigor, the ideal candidate will demonstrate curiosity, openness, willingness to learn, and excitement for the opportunity to build an org from the ground up!

Key Responsibilities 

  • Process Transformation: Identify and support analysis of process gaps, data issues, and improvement opportunities within Finance. Own and drive process transformation assessment including information gathering, stakeholder interviewing, process mapping, data analysis, and synthesis of recommendations for senior leaders. 

  • Goals: Own FIT goals and quarterly tracking of FIT Leader goals to ensure teams are on track, or pivot accordingly based on changes throughout the year.

  • Change Management: Own, drive, measure, and track success criteria for AI use cases. Support change management, training, and adoption for new AI use cases, including process, system, and automation updates.

  • Senior Leader Updates: Support Strategy & Ops Lead on senior leader updates (Steering Committees, CFO, Audit Committee, and Board of Directors).

  • Communications Strategy: Promote FIT visibility & execute communications strategy to teams within and outside of FIT and Finance, at all levels, including internal newsletter, All Hands presentations, etc.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience at a top-tier consulting firm or corporate strategy team, especially with direct work or project experience in a global or matrixed finance organization.

  • Structured Problem Solving: Utilization of basic strategic frameworks to simplify complex or ambiguous issues with nuance. Ability to break down finance requirements and support processes or system solutions.

  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (basic modeling) and dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) to analyze large datasets.

  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Excellent ability to translate complex concepts into approachable, actionable messaging for non-technical audiences and to build concise, compelling slide decks to communicate recommendations to senior partners. Proven ability to communicate clearly and proactively with partners to support alignment, issue resolution, and timely execution. 

  • Collaboration/Partnership: Adept at creating rapport and building strong relationships with key stakeholders (FIT Leads, Technology, Finance SMEs, etc.) across different orgs.

  • Project Management: Planning, executing, and controlling project workstreams using methodologies like Agile.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to enterprise AI transformations 

  • Familiarity with finance governance, controls, or risk concepts

  • Experience supporting cross-functional or systems-related initiatives

Additional Details

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$77,200 - $132,400

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
