Our values:

Own it: We show up, take initiative, and show pride.

The opportunity:

We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the design and evaluation of our Limited X-Ray Machine Operator (LXMO/LMRT) program. The SME will ensure that curriculum content meets the rigorous standards of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), specifically with a strong alignment to the Limited Scope of Practice in Radiography exam. The SME will play a key role in validating educational content, advising on instructional strategy, and maintaining industry and regulatory compliance.

This opportunity is fully remote.

Expected hours: 8-15 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and review a comprehensive LXMO/LMRT curriculum with specific alignment to ARRT’s Limited Scope of Practice in Radiography exam and competency standards.

  • Evaluate instructional materials to ensure content accuracy per certification competencies.

  • Collaborate with program managers, content developers and the Stepful internal team to align learning objectives with ARRT exam domains and subdomains.

  • Provide ongoing assessment and feedback to support curriculum improvement and student success.

  • Recommend evidence-based teaching strategies for delivering LXMO/LMRT concepts in a synchronous and asynchronous online format.

  • Review assessment tools to ensure they mirror ARRT’s testing format and cognitive complexity.

  • Stay current on updates to ARRT exams and industry best practices in Limited Scope Radiography.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in developing and managing LXMO/LMRT curriculum aligned with ARRT exam for Limited Scope of Practice in Radiography and (if applicable) state-level competency standards.

  • Prior experience creating synchronous and asynchronous online educational content.

  • At least 5 years of experience in Radiography, Radiography education, or program administration.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in health sciences, education or a related field.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Familiarity with instructional design principles, learning management systems, and competency-based education.

If you are passionate about healthcare education, and have the skills and experience to lead a successful program, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity!

Interview Process:

  • Phone screening

  • Take home case

  • Panel interview

The hourly rate range for this opportunity is $35-$40/hour. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, internal pay equity and other relevant business considerations.
