Summer Internship: AI Engineering Intern (Remote)

Internship program dates: June 8 - August 21, 2026

Education Required: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.

General Description:

The AI Engineering Intern will support the design, development, testing, and deployment of AI-powered solutions. This role provides hands-on experience with modern AI engineering practices, including LLM applications, AI-assisted software development, workflow automation, and production-ready AI systems.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Support development of AI-powered applications and workflows.
• Gain exposure to LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and multi-agent systems.
• Assist with prompt design, tool use, agent orchestration, and AI workflow automation.
• Work with AI coding tools to improve development, debugging, and documentation.
• Support model integration, testing, evaluation, and production monitoring.
• Learn modern AI frameworks and practices such as LangGraph-style workflows, reusable skills, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop processes.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  

• Not required

Computer Skills:   

• Proficiency in Python or another modern programming language. Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, LLMs, APIs, and software development practices.
• Exposure to modern AI engineering tools and frameworks.
• Experience using AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar.
• Basic understanding of Git, testing, debugging, and technical documentation.

Other Qualifications:    

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Clinical trial, life sciences, healthcare, and previous software engineering experience preferred.

Travel:  Not required

Pay Rates:

Bachelors: $27/hour USD

Masters: $30/hour USD

Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
