The Suppression Technician is responsible for diagnosing, installing, inspecting, and repairing suppression systems, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining documentation, managing inventory, and communicating effectively with customers and supervisors.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Diagnoses detection, notification, reporting of suppression systems performance through observation, testing and setup. Included but not limited to CO2, FE-13, Dry chemical, stove, kitchen hoods and clean agent systems
- Installation, inspect and repair suppression systems to perform trouble shooting and preventative maintenance
- Operates hand tools, power tools, gauges and measuring equipment to perform service to the system
- Completes work orders, task lists and documents to verify work performed as needed to conform to customer invoicing requirements
- Completes documentation of invoicing data based on hours worked and materials or equipment used to perform the service
- Explains the service charges and work performed to the satisfaction of the customer.
- Reconciles work order documents, vendor packing slips and weekly timesheets for supervisor review
- Follow established Allied Fire Protection SOP’s
- Other duties as assigned

- Submit accurate Timesheet – job numbers/names, OT and travel pay, completed on time, etc., support transition to Electronic timesheet submittal
- Ensure all required documents are complete, accurate and professional, with required signatures
- Ensure proper Inventory Management – review, update, and approve packing slips – submitted timely, proper material management
- Ensure proper Maintenance and care of equipment – trucks, lifts, tools, etc.
- Keep jobsites clean and organized
- Ensure Production Efficiency – awareness of budget vs. actual labor hours and proactive communication with superintendent
- Support and Ensure Adherence to Company SOPs – Purchase Orders, Change Orders, etc.
- Timeliness – at the job on time; attendance; communication with supervisor; paperwork
- Ensure Customer Satisfaction and respond to Customer Satisfaction Survey feedback improvement opportunities
- Maintain Quality Control i.e. reduce the need for return trips and warranty work
- Maintain a Professional appearance
- Communicate effectively and professionally within the department and with internal and external customers
- Teamwork – maintain positive interactions within your team, local office, etc.
- Actively Participate in required team meetings
- Ability to work overtime, out of town or on-call as needed
Knowledge:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Hold FEL and A License
- Ability to maintain on-going required continued education, professional licenses and/or certifications as required by the position
- Diagnostic ability as demonstrated through prior experience and/or training
Work Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience to include service experience on portable extinguishers, CO2 systems, kitchen hoods and clean agent systems
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to maintain proper documentation on provided electronic device for work performed
- Ability to meets requirements of company vehicle driving policy which includes a valid Driver’s License and a motor vehicle record in good standing
- Ability to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle as evidenced by past driving performance record and to adhere to all company safety requirements
- Ability to competently use a variety of gauges, meters, measuring instruments, hand and power tools and equipment
- Ability to effectively communicate with peers, supervisors and the custom
- Good math, verbal, written skills as well as good interpersonal skills
- Basic to moderate computer skills are desired
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings
- Ability to follow specific directions (written/verbal), perform a changing variety of duties, repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure and work within precise limits and standards of numerical accuracy
- Ability to meet customer requirements and maintain an acceptable customer satisfaction rating
