The Job

We're looking for a hands-on Systems Administrator with deep Workday expertise to own the administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of our Workday environment. You'll serve as the go-to specialist across the full breadth of the platform — core HCM configuration, integrations, security, and reporting — while bringing a systems administrator's mindset to reliability, automation, and clean process design.

This role reports into our IT organization and sits at the intersection of IT and HR: you'll partner closely with People, Payroll, and Finance teams to make sure Workday accurately reflects the organization, integrates smoothly with the rest of our systems, and delivers the data and workflows the business depends on.

This position is fully on-site at our downtown Austin office.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the Workday platform day to day, including tenant configuration, business processes, organizational structures, and release management
  • Own core HCM/HRIS administration: business process configuration, condition rules, notifications, and data integrity across the employee lifecycle
  • Design, build, and maintain integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Workday APIs (REST/SOAP), connecting Workday to downstream systems such as identity, payroll, benefits, and finance platforms
  • Administer Workday security end to end: domain and business process security policies, security groups, role assignments, and segregation-of-duties reviews
  • Build and maintain reports and analytics: custom reports (advanced, matrix, composite), calculated fields, dashboards, and scheduled report delivery for stakeholders
  • Lead testing and validation for Workday's semi-annual releases, evaluating new features and coordinating regression testing with functional owners
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across configuration, integrations, security, and data — from intake through root cause and documentation
  • Support audits and compliance activities with access reviews, security evidence, and report validation
  • Document configuration, integrations, and runbooks so the Workday environment is well understood and supportable

•     Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.

•     Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of hands-on systems administration experience, with significant dedicated experience administering Workday in a production environment
  • Strong Workday HCM configuration skills: business processes, organizational structures, condition rules, and tenant maintenance
  • Hands-on integration experience with Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Workday web services (REST/SOAP)
  • Solid command of the Workday security model: security groups, domain and business process policies, and role-based access administration
  • Proven Workday reporting skills, including advanced and composite reports, calculated fields, and dashboards
  • Experience managing Workday releases, including feature evaluation and regression testing
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts and the ability to manage a varied workload independently
  • Clear written and verbal communication — comfortable working with both technical teams and HR/Finance stakeholders
  • Ability to work on-site full-time in downtown Austin, TX
Preferred
  • Workday Pro certification in one or more areas (HCM, Integrations, Security, or Reporting)
  • Experience with additional Workday modules such as Payroll, Benefits, Time Tracking, Absence, or Compensation
  • Experience integrating Workday with identity platforms (e.g., Okta, Entra ID) for provisioning and lifecycle automation
  • Scripting or development skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell, XSLT) to support integrations and automation
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or SOX ITGC controls
  • Broader IT systems administration experience across SaaS platforms, endpoints, or identity
