Meridio is a remote-first company on a mission to make health benefits for small businesses simple, affordable, and accessible. As we scale smart, we’re investing in internal systems that let a small team do outsized work.

In this role, you’ll focus on internal tools, automation, and system stitching. You’ll build lightweight interfaces, automate workflows, and connect systems so teams can move faster — without pulling product or core engineering into internal tooling work.

We’re a small, scrappy team — which means not every problem is perfectly defined, priorities can evolve, and no two days look the same. We value good judgment, ownership, and people who are comfortable operating with context instead of rigid rules. If you’re energized by ambiguity, enjoy making thoughtful tradeoffs, and building practical solutions in a fast-moving environment, you’ll fit well within our team.

This is a modern builder role for someone who loves reducing friction, experimenting with new tools, and making systems “just work.”

You’ll report directly to our Chief Product Officer.

Location: This role is remote, but candidates must be located in the United States or Canada and legally authorized to work without sponsorship.

What You’ll Do
  • Build and maintain internal tools for viewing and managing accounts, members, and operational data
  • Create and improve internal interfaces so teams can self-serve without engineering help
  • Automate workflows across tools and systems to reduce manual work
  • Stitch together APIs, scripts, and modern automation platforms
  • Experiment with emerging tools (including AI agents) where they add real leverage
  • Partner with Product, Ops, and Engineering to identify high-impact automation opportunities
  • Move quickly, iterate often, and improve tools over time
What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)
  • Internal tools that teams actually enjoy using
  • Fewer ad hoc requests to product and engineering
  • Reduced manual and repetitive work across the organization
  • Faster experiments and operational improvements
  • Clear ownership of internal tooling and automation
About You
  • Energized by scrappy environments where you can move fast, experiment, and improve things as you go
  • Love building tools that make work easier for others
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and iteration
  • Curious about new tools and approaches
  • Prefer progress over perfection
  • Explain technical ideas clearly to non-technical teammates
  • Thrive in collaborative, fast-moving environments
What You Bring
  • 3–6+ years hands-on experience building and owning internal tools, automation workflows, or operational systems
  • Experience with scripting, APIs, and workflow tooling
  • Comfort with lightweight frontend or interface work
  • Ability to connect systems without over-engineering
  • Experience working in early-stage or scaling teams

Bonus points for

  • Experience with Make, Zapier, or similar automation tools
  • Exposure to AI agents or automation frameworks
  • Background in ops-heavy or tooling-heavy environments
  • Interest in improving how teams work, not just what they ship
Compensation & Benefits
  • Benefits: Medical, Dental & Vision
  • 401k
  • Remote-first culture with bi-annual in-person offsites
  • Discretionary Time Off
Why You’ll Love Working Here
  • Impact beyond features — Your work directly improves how the entire company operates.
  • High trust, low friction — We value initiative and ownership.
  • Room to grow — As our systems mature, so will your scope and influence.
  • Work from anywhere — Flexibility without losing connection.
