About us

Graphcore is a globally recognised leader in Artificial Intelligence computing systems. The company designs advanced semiconductors and data centre hardware that provide the specialised processing power needed to drive AI innovation, while delivering the efficiency required to support its broader adoption.

As part of the SoftBank Group, Graphcore is a member of an elite family of companies responsible for some of the world’s most transformative technologies. We are opening a new AI Engineering Campus in Austin, which will play a central role in Graphcore's work building the future of AI computing.

Role Overview

Graphcore is seeking an experienced and hands-on Capacity Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and operational scaling of technical infrastructure programs within our Data Center Engineering organization. This role blends project leadership, cross-functional coordination, and real-time execution support in a high-performance compute environment. As a core member of our systems team, you’ll be responsible for aligning programs across infrastructure readiness—ensuring our elite R&D platforms scale with precision and agility. You’ll thrive here if you love bringing structure to complexity, solving problems in real time, and working closely with engineers, technicians, and leadership alike.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership: Lead the development of integrated program schedules for hardware deployment, lab operations, and buildouts.
  • Define success criteria, drive execution plans, and establish an agile, scalable approach for maturing operational support environments.
  • Execution & Delivery Management: Act as the hands-on program lead, driving alignment across engineering, lab, facilities, and technical leadership.
  • Serve as the go-to escalation point for execution challenges and lead from the front to keep infrastructure projects on track.
  • Risk & Change Management: Identify and manage risks related to complex technology roadmaps, infrastructure interdependencies, and evolving requirements.
  • Implement structured change control processes to minimize scope creep and ensure all infrastructure changes are reviewed, documented, and approved.
  • Technical Engagement: Work with engineers, architects, and lab technicians to translate requirements into infrastructure deliverables, including system diagrams, test plans, bill of materials, and validation milestones.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships across engineering, operations, finance, and leadership teams.
  • Coordinate delivery dependencies, unblock teams, and align program goals with resource availability and roadmap timelines.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to support data-driven investment in lab infrastructure and emerging technologies.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex technical programs or schedules across cross-functional infrastructure teams.
  • Strong experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, or similar).
  • Deep understanding of technical development lifecycles in HPC, AI, or infrastructure environments.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable with fast paced environment that is rapidly developing and changing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP or similar project management certification.
  • Experience in data center, lab infrastructure or hardware development environments.
  • Familiarity with PM software and tools.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and tools.

Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary, Graphcore offers a competitive benefits package. We welcome people of different backgrounds and experiences; we’re committed to building an inclusive work environment that makes Graphcore a great home for everyone. We offer an equal opportunity process and understand that there are visible and invisible differences in all of us. We can provide a flexible approach to interview and encourage you to chat to us if you require any reasonable adjustments.
