As a Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for reviewing, preparing, and filing tax returns, reconciling financial data, and acting as a client liaison throughout the tax preparation process. You will work with various tax filing systems, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission of all filings.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze client tax and revenue data to prepare accurate returns.
- Prepare supporting workpapers and reconcile client ledgers to imported tax data.
- Facilitate and process state and local tax filings—both paper and online—and ensure timely payments.
- Communicate with clients throughout the tax preparation process and act as a client representative with applicable agencies as needed.
- Maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business and referrals.
- Process business renewal applications and exemption certifications.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (math degree preferred) or equivalent experience in accounting.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other digital tools.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with internal and external clients.
- Effective prioritization and time management skills to meet tax deadlines.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with telecommunications industry tax requirements.
- Experience with tax preparation software.
