PDQ's Core Values: Honesty, Ownership, Collaboration and Improvement

Job Description:

Before you apply, please note:

  • This is a remote role open to candidates residing in any of PDQ's open states (*see below for a list).

As a Technical Brand Manager at PDQ, you’ll create, present, and review content that engages IT pros with practical insights, real-world relevance, and just the right amount of personality. You’ll connect with the community across platforms like Reddit, LinkedIn, and Discord; develop audio/video content; host webinars; appear on our weekly webcast; speak at industry events and on podcasts; and create content that resonates with sysadmins and IT leaders. If you’ve been in the IT trenches — or know how to speak the language — you're a great candidate. We’re looking for someone who can create sharp, useful content and isn’t afraid to show up and be a voice in the IT community. This position reports into the Director of Marketing Communications.

Every day is different in this role, so you’ll thrive if you enjoy collaborating and bouncing between responsibilities while planning for long-term success. In this role, you may spend your day:

  • Being visible in the community — speak on webinars or panels, speak at industry events, post on social, reply to Reddit threads, and help make PDQ the brand people trust and remember
  • Interviewing IT pros and sysadmins — turn their stories, struggles, and quotes into content gold
  • Managing Brand Ambassadors – turn IT pros’ excitement about our brand into wide-reaching influence and authentic content
  • Partnering across teams as an SME — work with product, SEO, content marketing, public relations, media team, and demand gen to bring campaigns to life
  • Reviewing and uplevel content as an SME — be a sharp editor and sounding board for other writers and teams
  • Staying plugged into our customers — run surveys, monitor community chatter, analyze internal feedback loops
  • Tracking and sharing what’s resonating — use analytics, comments, and engagement data to learn and adapt
  • Keeping an eye on competitors — help us sharpen our edge with better positioning and clearer messaging
  • Creating content – contribute to videos, blogs, and other media to communicate technical content

Who You Are

  • An IT veteran – you lived the life of an IT professional or sysadmin, and you know their pain points
  • A dreamer and a doer – you come up with great ideas, pressure test them with stakeholders and leaders, and then project manage them to completion
  • A public-facing communicator — you're excited to post, speak, or record — and you're authentic and comfortable doing it
  • A strategic storyteller — you can translate technical topics into plain English, and you know how to bring voice, value, and vibe to any format
  • A community wonk at heart — you get how to show up on Reddit without being salesy, how to build relationships on LinkedIn, and how to earn trust, not just attention
  • Customer-obsessed — you want to deeply understand the humans behind the endpoints: what they care about, what frustrates them, what they joke about in Slack
  • Bias toward action — you don’t wait for perfect alignment to start making progress
  • Collaborative to your core — you love bouncing ideas around, giving thoughtful feedback, and helping others make their work better too

We’re looking for people who have

  • A minimum of 3–5+ years of IT technical experience (knowledge of PDQ or RMM products is preferred, but not necessary)
  • Previous and ongoing comfort speaking on camera or in front of a crowd (especially if you’ve hosted a webinar or AMA)
  • Experience writing for a technical audience — IT, dev, or cybersecurity is a plus
  • Ability to manage social media channels and fill content calendars for short posts, videos, and engagements
  • A track record of writing high-quality content that performs — and a few standout posts or campaigns you’re proud of
  • Experience growing a presence on LinkedIn, Reddit, or other social/community platforms (for yourself or a brand)
  • Bachelor’s degree

PDQ Perks & Benefits:

PDQ offers all of the great perks and benefits you'd expect from working at a very cool tech company, and even some you might not expect, including:

  • 4-Day Work Week
  • Equity

  • 100% Premium Coverage for medical, dental and vision for you and your dependents
  • 100% Premium Coverage for Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Life, and AD&D Insurance
  • Company Match of the first 6% of your employee deferrals

  • Health Savings Account (HSA) and wellness incentives
  • Quarterly Company Values Award (team member nominated)
