The Technical Consultant role is primarily responsible for supporting the implementation and ongoing production support of Alkami's Segmint platform. As a Technical Consultant, you will be part of a small, high-impact team responsible for validating client data extracts, troubleshooting platform issues, coaching clients through data submission cycles, and serving as a technical partner to Project Managers throughout the Segmint implementation lifecycle. You will support multiple active client projects and a production support queue in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. The ideal candidate has a background in data analysis or application support, with a genuine interest in financial technology and a drive to build deep platform expertise.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports the technical validation of data extracts for new Segmint implementations, providing extensive client coaching through highly iterative data submission cycles to ensure accuracy against platform standards before client go-live.

  • Works daily production support tickets for live Segmint clients, including handling change requests and performing "Break fix" tasks to address stale data and resolve client data flow interruptions.

  • Participates in data discovery sessions and client-facing technical calls alongside senior team members, with growing independence over time.

  • Assists with client-side SFTP configuration, troubleshooting, and data transmission validation for client onboarding.

  • Contributes to product taxonomy and KLI (Key Lifestyle Indicator) mapping reviews in coordination with Project Managers and client data teams.

  • Maintains and updates internal runbooks, knowledge base articles, and support documentation as platform behavior evolves.

  • Assists internal project resources and external clients with Segmint platform functionality questions and established best practices.

Recommended Experience & Education

Minimum Years of Experience

  • 2+ Years of technical background in data analysis, application support, or a related field

  • 2+ Years of customer-facing or client-interaction experience

  • Familiarity with data file formats, SFTP processes, or application troubleshooting preferred

Education Level

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required

Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications

Required

  • Exceptional client-facing communication skills; ability to clearly and straightforwardly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with basic SQL and querying relational databases, including the ability to write SELECT statements and join tables.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to investigate data discrepancies

  • Comfortable working with structured data and recognizing patterns or anomalies

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and client contexts simultaneously without sacrificing quality

  • Collaborative working style with a willingness to learn from senior team members and escalate appropriately

Preferred

  • Basic familiarity with scripting (e.g., Python, Google Apps Script) and comfort with AI tools for automation or data aggregation.

  • Experience in the financial services or financial technology industry

  • Familiarity with SFTP protocols and secure file transmission processes

  • Exposure to data pipeline concepts, file extract design, or ETL-style workflows

The salary range for this position is: $83,000 - $92,000Cool Things to Know
