About Us

Chainlink Labs is the primary contributing developer of Chainlink, the decentralized computing platform powering the verifiable web. Chainlink is the industry-standard platform for providing access to real-world data, offchain computation, and secure cross-chain interoperability across any blockchain. Chainlink Labs helps power verifiable applications for banking, DeFi, global trade, and gaming by collaborating with some of the world’s largest financial institutions, notably Swift, DTCC, and ANZ. Chainlink Labs also works with top Web3 teams, including Aave, Compound, GMX, Maker, and Synthetix. Chainlink Labs was ranked in Newsweek’s 100 Most Loved Workplaces 2023 in both the United States and United Kingdom.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to drive the development of Chainlink’s public-facing dashboard. This dashboard will serve as a key resource for the Web3 community, showcasing metrics that highlight the performance, adoption, and impact of the Chainlink Network. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in data engineering combined with a deep understanding of the blockchain and Web3 space.

In this role, you will take ownership of defining the metrics to be displayed, building the logic to calculate these metrics, and creating robust data pipelines to ensure their delivery. You’ll be responsible for the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of these metrics, while also contributing insights into how these metrics should reflect the unique aspects of the blockchain ecosystem.

Your Impact

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize metrics for the dashboard.

  • Build logic to calculate metrics such as transaction volume, total value secured, and staking activity.

  • Design and maintain ETL pipelines to process blockchain data and ensure seamless delivery to the dashboard.

  • Ensure high data quality and timeliness through monitoring, validation, and debugging processes.

  • Provide insights into blockchain-specific metrics, differentiating between concepts such as transaction volume vs. locked value and understanding diverse protocol types (e.g., perpetuals vs. lending protocols).

  • Act as a subject matter expert in blockchain data, helping teams interpret the difference between decentralized applications (Dapps) and smart contracts. Partnering with GTM and Marketing which makes understanding metrics and blockchain is important.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in data engineering, with expertise in ETL processes, cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS), and tools like Apache Airflow, SQL, and Python.

  • Strong knowledge of blockchain fundamentals, including smart contracts, decentralized applications, and protocol types.

  • Familiarity with Web3 metrics, such as transaction volume, TVL (Total Value Locked), staking, and protocol usage data.

  • Excellent ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, including data science, product, and engineering.

  • Passion for Web3, blockchain, and decentralized ecosystems.

Join our team to craft the data backbone of Chainlink’s public narrative, providing the Web3 community with the insights they need to understand and trust the value of decentralized systems!
