About the role

As a Technical Implementation Specialist, you will lead the technical onboarding of Embrace® customers, ensuring successful setup of integrations, rostering, and Single Sign-On (SSO). You'll act as the primary technical contact during implementation, working with district-level IT administrators to configure integrations and validate customer data for a smooth transition to the platform.

Working closely with the wider Implementation team, you'll help customers become operational quickly by following established implementation processes, resolving straightforward technical issues, and escalating more complex problems when required.

Main responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Execute the technical setup of customer integrations in line with established implementation plans and checklists.
  • Configure, test and validate SSO integrations (including SAML and Google) and rostering connections (including Clever, ClassLink and direct APIs).
  • Validate customer data and investigate basic data issues using PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL.
  • Support End-of-School and Back-to-School rollover activities for customers with existing integrations.
  • Identify, document and escalate technical defects or data discrepancies to Senior Specialists or Engineering where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation for each customer's implementation.
  • Work closely with Implementation Specialists to ensure customer stakeholders receive timely updates on technical progress.
  • Provide implementation-related technical support during customers' initial go-live period.
Essential criteria
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1–2 years' experience in technical support, software implementation or a junior data analysis role.
  • Ability to write and run SQL queries (PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL) to retrieve and validate data.
  • Understanding of web-based integrations, including APIs and Single Sign-On (SSO).
  • Attention to detail when validating data mappings and configuration settings.
  • Communicates clearly with customer IT administrators and explains technical processes in an accessible way.
  • Able to manage work across multiple customer implementations simultaneously.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience working within the K–12 EdTech sector.
  • Experience using CSV files and Excel functions (such as VLOOKUPs and PivotTables) for data preparation and validation.
  • Familiarity with ticket management systems such as Jira, Zendesk or Salesforce.
  • Uses AI-assisted tools appropriately to improve troubleshooting, documentation or data validation workflows.
