Technical Lead (TLM) – Static-Analysis/Compilers or Agentic AI

Location: United States (Remote or Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time

Overview

Code Metal is building a new generation of software engineering tools that help teams analyze, transform, and deploy complex software systems. Our work sits at the intersection of program analysis, software verification, compiler technology, and AI-driven workflows.

We are hiring Technical Leads (TLMs) to help grow our core engineering team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role (roughly 80% engineering, 20% leadership) for experienced engineers who enjoy solving hard technical problems while guiding small teams and technical direction.

Each Technical Lead will come in with depth in at least one core systems domain and will grow into the others over time.

What You’ll Work On
  • Designing and building core components of Code Metal’s analysis and transformation pipelines
  • Working on tools that analyze, reason about, and transform real-world codebases
  • Shaping and evolving system architecture as the product and team scale
  • Collaborating closely with research and product partners to turn ideas into production systems
  • Writing production-quality code and setting technical standards across the team
  • Hiring and leading small groups of engineers
Background We’re Looking For

We’re looking for engineers who have built and shipped complex systems and managed small teams.

You might come from a background in:

  • Compilers, static analysis, or program analysis tooling
  • Agentic AI pipelines, tuning Large Language Models or Reinforcement Learning

You don’t need experience in all of these areas. Depth in one is sufficient, and you’ll have the opportunity to learn the others on the job.

Why This Role
  • You stay deeply hands-on while influencing technical direction
  • You work on foundational problems with real-world impact
  • You help shape both the product and the engineering culture as the team grows
  • You collaborate with engineers and researchers working at the cutting edge of software tooling
Additional Information

This is not an engineering manager role. We’re specifically looking for technical leaders who want to continue as technical contributors but at the same time understand the value of. building the right teams.

Visa sponsorship is not available. US Citizens or Green Card holders preferred.
Security clearance is not required.
