DIRECTV is seeking a Technical Operations Manager to serve as the technical team leader who will collaborate with other team members while driving technical architectural process excellence and architectural innovation initiatives. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, requiring someone who can effectively collaborate across teams, and champion best practices throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong planning capabilities and risk management skills while consistently delivering high-quality results.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration by managing dependencies and assessing project impacts across departments.
  • Collect data for monthly metrics reporting. Analyze the data for any trends and defects.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, daily standups, and knowledge-sharing sessions like Lunch and Learns.
  • Develop innovative solutions to improve IT architecture based on architectural guiding principles. 
  • Plan and execute both short-term deliverables and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Organize work assignments and technical designs to meet project targets and deadlines.
  • Assess project risks and determine when to escalate issues or request additional leadership support.
  • Serve as a go-to resource for both internal team members and external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts through process optimization and innovation.
  • Present technical solutions and recommendations to various audiences.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical, Industrial, or related discipline.
  • 3 – 5 years of process engineering experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Proven experience in collaborating with technical teams.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in IT Architecture, especially in solution architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of Software Development and software cost management processes in a SAFe Agile environment.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risk and make strategic decisions.
  • Track record of successful cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

May require a background check due to job duties requiring routine access to DIRECTV and DIRECTV customer’s proprietary data. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction will be considered for employment in accordance with local ordinances and state law.

This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in the United States. #LI-Remote

DIRECTV's compensation structure is designed to be market-competitive and fully supports efforts to attract and retain employees. It is the company's policy to offer pay that is competitive with other employers in the local market. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $96,140 - $174,570

Low (N1): $96,140 - $144,210

Mid (N2): $101,200 - $151,800

High (N3): $111,320 - $166,980

Top (N4): $116,380 - $174,570
