The VP of Carrier Relations will manage relationships with health plans, shape product integration, and support market strategies, focusing on partnerships over sales.

Garner's mission is to transform the healthcare economy, delivering high quality and affordable care for all. By helping employers restructure their healthcare benefit to provide clear incentives and data-driven insights, we direct employees to higher quality and lower cost healthcare providers. The result is that patients get better health outcomes while doctors are rewarded for practicing well, not performing more procedures. We are backed by top-tier venture capital firms, are growing rapidly and looking to expand our team.

We’re seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager who will partner with our Engineering department to prioritize and deliver mission-critical projects across our shared services teams. This role reports to the Staff Technical Program Manager.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Own and manage practices and ceremonies to ensure on-time delivery of business commitments across SRE, Data Platform, and Security Engineering teams
  • Establish and monitor KPIs and metrics to measure team performance; use data insights to improve efficiency across shared services continuously
  • Collaborate with Engineering leadership to manage dependencies across domains, clearly communicating shared services requirements and dependencies
  • Use your technical expertise to translate requirements and requests from the Engineering department into actionable work items
  • Track risks, dependencies, and deliverables across shared services to ensure business value is delivered and stakeholders are kept informed of changes or delays
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards in partnership with Business Technology and Security teams

The ideal candidate has:

  • 4+ years of experience in program management, project management, engineering management, or related roles in a technical environment
  • Data-driven, analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize insights from complex data
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail, resulting in a track record of delivering complex cross-functional initiatives
  • Ability to influence without authority and a demonstrated adeptness at building strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders across departments
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling you to clearly articulate risks, dependencies, and roadblocks to various stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of data security, data governance, and compliance requirements
  • A willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success
  • Experience working in a rapidly evolving startup environment
  • A desire to be a part of our mission to improve the U.S. healthcare system
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Garner does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time

What we look for at Garner:

  • Mission First: Our mission is to transform our healthcare system, delivering high-quality and affordable care to all. Everything else is secondary.
  • Expect Extraordinary: Our mission is audacious, so we will only succeed by producing exceptional results. We continually push ourselves and each other to new heights and beyond our comfort zones.
  • Courageous Communication: Transparency and candor are imperative to realizing our potential as an organization and as individuals—even when uncomfortable. Many companies talk about these values. We live them.
  • Supportive community: People do their best work and learn the most when genuinely supported and cared for. It’s also more fun that way.

The target salary range for this position is: $95,000-$130,0000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on a variety of factors including qualifications, skills and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans.
