You will work closely with executive leaders and cross-functional stakeholders, serving as the bridge between strategy and execution through clear communication, proactive risk management, and structured program delivery. In your first year, you will independently lead strategic programs, driving predictable execution, thoughtful tradeoffs between quality and speed, and transparent stakeholder alignment.

Some examples of our projects:

  • Driving infrastructure modernization and scalability programs that support our growing customer base
  • Orchestrating security and compliance initiatives that maintain our industry-leading DevSecOps standards

What you will do

  • Lead end-to-end technical programs across product, engineering, data, and security, from initial scope through launch and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate closely with executive leaders and senior stakeholders to translate strategic vision into actionable roadmaps and align on priorities and tradeoffs
  • Coordinate distributed teams across time zones using strong asynchronous communication, providing structure, clarity, and consistent status updates
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans, proactively identifying and mitigating risks and dependencies while facilitating decisions that balance speed, quality, and customer impact
  • Partner with customer success and cross-functional teams to refine communication plans, and operational workflows
  • Champion GitLab's values and culture within programs, fostering collaborative excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation

What you will bring

  • Proven experience leading technical program initiatives in product, engineering, data, or security environments, with demonstrated success delivering complex programs from inception through scaled adoption
  • Strong background in SaaS, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps technology companies, with ability to quickly master the GitLab platform and AI/ML initiatives
  • Excellence in cross-functional leadership, with experience partnering with engineering, product, security teams and engaging effectively with senior and C-level stakeholders
  • Outstanding communication skills, including asynchronous collaboration, executive reporting, and the ability to translate technical complexity into clear business impact
  • Track record of success in fast-paced, dynamic environments with evolving technical requirements and market opportunities
  • Strong facilitation and influence skills, with ability to drive consensus across diverse stakeholder groups while building trust through transparency and delivery excellence
  • Collaborative leadership style aligned with GitLab's values, including respect, openness to feedback, and commitment to team success
  • Welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, including those with consulting, enterprise technology, or technical leadership experience who have owned outcomes and delivered transformational initiatives

About the team: The Technical Program Management team sits within GitLab's R&D Program Management Office and drives product, engineering, data, and security initiatives across our AI-powered DevSecOps platform. You will join our growing, distributed team of Technical Program Managers currently spanning North America and Europe. We own the end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional programs including AI platform capabilities, enterprise customer initiatives, and strategic technology transformations.
