About this Position
The Technical Project Manager, Business Applications is responsible for leading cross-functional operational, business application, and integration initiatives that improve efficiency, scalability, data quality, and business performance across the organization.
This role will manage projects from initiation through completion, with a strong focus on Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Sales, and PSA initiatives, as well as Intacct ERP, help desk systems, finance applications, reporting, automation, system integrations, and other business applications. The ideal candidate has enough technical depth to understand system configuration, data flows, integrations, testing requirements, deployment activities, and business process impacts, while also having the project management discipline to drive timelines, accountability, communication, and successful delivery.
This is a hands-on technical project management role for someone who can work effectively across business stakeholders, application owners, technical teams, consultants, vendors, and leadership. The right candidate will be able to translate business requirements into actionable project plans, understand configuration and integration dependencies, manage risks and issues, coordinate testing and release readiness, and ensure that technology initiatives produce measurable business value.
Job Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead end-to-end project management for operational, business application, integration, reporting, automation, and Microsoft Dynamics-related initiatives.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, budgets, resource plans, risk registers, issue logs, dependency trackers, and status reports.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while ensuring alignment to business priorities, organizational objectives, and defined success criteria.
- Coordinate work across business stakeholders, application owners, internal technical teams, consultants, vendors, and leadership.
- Facilitate project meetings, document key decisions, track action items, and ensure clear ownership and accountability for deliverables.
- Proactively identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, scope changes, configuration impacts, integration constraints, and decision points.
- Escalate blockers and tradeoffs in a timely, business-oriented manner with clear recommendations.
Business Applications, Dynamics & Integration Management
- Manage projects involving Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Sales, PSA, Intacct ERP, help desk platforms, finance systems, reporting tools, automation platforms, system integrations, and other business applications.
- Partner with business and technical teams to understand business requirements, system configuration needs, integration dependencies, data flows, testing requirements, security considerations, deployment activities, and business impacts.
- Support and coordinate Dynamics-related initiatives, including configuration changes, workflow improvements, CRM/PSA process alignment, reporting needs, user adoption, testing, and release planning.
- Coordinate requirements gathering, current-state and future-state process discussions, user acceptance testing, defect resolution, deployment readiness, training, and post-go-live support.
- Ensure integration and application initiatives include appropriate planning for data migration, data validation, integration testing, security, user adoption, reporting impacts, and process alignment.
- Work with technical teams, vendors, and consultants to ensure configuration, integration, and application changes are delivered according to requirements and project timelines.
- Help identify gaps between business processes and system capabilities, and work with stakeholders to define practical solutions.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, workflows, documentation, reporting, automation, and project delivery practices.
- Support business process standardization, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Help define and document current-state and future-state processes, business requirements, system impacts, project assumptions, and success measures.
- Introduce and reinforce project management best practices, governance standards, and repeatable delivery processes.
- Measure project outcomes and business impact against defined objectives, including efficiency gains, adoption, process improvement, data quality, reporting accuracy, and operational scalability.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Serve as the central point of coordination between business units, application owners, technical teams, vendors, consultants, and leadership.
- Communicate project status, risks, decisions, recommendations, technical dependencies, and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels.
- Prepare clear, executive-ready updates that highlight progress, risks, dependencies, decisions needed, and expected business impact.
- Translate technical information into business-friendly communication and business needs into clear technical execution requirements.
- Build strong relationships across the organization and foster collaboration among project teams.
- Help drive adoption by ensuring stakeholders understand process changes, system impacts, testing expectations, training needs, and their role in successful project execution.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Information Systems, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of project management experience in technology, business applications, systems implementation, operations, consulting, professional services, or business transformation environments.
- Experience managing business application, ERP, CRM, PSA, reporting, automation, integration, or Microsoft Dynamics-related projects.
- Hands-on familiarity with business application configuration, workflows, integrations, data migration, testing, deployment, and release management.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders, business functions, technical teams, application owners, vendors, and/or external consultants.
- Strong understanding of project management disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, issue, dependency, resource, and change management.
- Ability to facilitate requirements discussions, coordinate UAT, manage defect resolution, support deployment readiness, and oversee post-go-live stabilization.
- Ability to understand and discuss system configuration, data flows, integrations, APIs, reporting impacts, security considerations, and business process dependencies.
- Excellent organizational, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate between business needs and technical execution plans.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps, Monday.com, Asana, or similar platforms.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and drive projects to successful completion in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, Sales, PSA, Project Operations, Field Service, Customer Service, or related Dynamics modules.
- Familiarity with Sage Intacct, ERP systems, finance systems, help desk platforms, PSA tools, CRM platforms, reporting tools, workflow automation, and enterprise integrations.
- Familiarity with Power Platform, Power BI, Dataverse, Azure integrations, APIs, middleware solutions, data warehouses, or similar business application ecosystems.
- PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar certification.
- Experience within a technology, consulting, managed services, or professional services organization.
- Experience supporting operational transformation, process improvement, data migration, UAT, release planning, user adoption, and organizational change initiatives.
- Familiarity with data quality, data governance, security, access controls, and integration-related project considerations.

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range: $110,000 to $120,000.
This position is also eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan.
