Title: Technical Project Manager I, Customer Connectivity Implementation

The TPM I is a member of the Service Delivery Customer Implementation team and will assist in the installation of customer infrastructure within EdgeConneX Data Centers. This position has a hybrid work schedule and requires regular travel. The TPM I reports to Sr. Regional Manager, Service Delivery.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of ECX and Customer products including cabinets, cabinet infrastructure, Meet-Me-Room, structured cabling and cross connects, to meet customer needs.
  • Assist in the review of customer infrastructure build requirements and assist in the creation of quoting of build costs.
  • Assist in the communication of project deliverables with internal EdgeConneX teams in addition to communicating with end customers on project status.
  • Assist in ensuring onsite safety protocols are followed, onsite EdgeConneX standards are followed, and general safety practices are adhered to during build of Customer infrastructure within EdgeConneX facilities.
  • Assist in management and reporting of Meet Me Room inventory and availability at assigned locations.
  • Assist with reviewing Customer deliverables and interpreting into site specific power, space, and network connectivity (fiber and copper) needs within EdgeConnex facilities located across the U.S and globally as assigned.
  • Assist with oversight of general contractor and sub-contractor selection, project specific management, creation of and management of schedules and onsite build completion of Customer needs.
  • Update all appropriate EdgeConneX systems: CSI, EdgeOS, Rio, Sugar, etc.
  • Assist in other projects as assigned by Manager.
  • Ability to assist with multiple projects from beginning to end.
  • Ability to travel to sites as required (approximately 50%).

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Basic working understanding of Fiber and copper connectivity in the data center space.
  • Basic working understanding of the end‑to‑end optical paths that carries data using fiber‑optic cables, Meet‑Me Rooms (MMR), fiber conduit pathways and patch panels.
  • Basic understanding of data center customer cabinets and/or 2 or 4 post racks, and designed fiber or copper system of routes, terminations, and connectivity.
  • Proactive problem solver with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to begin to take direction from leadership and implement on Customer specific needs in addition to site specific build necessities to support both Customer and EdgeConneX specific needs.
  • Solid communications, both written and verbal, in leading teams and coordinating with peers and other disciplines on driving projects/issues to closure.
  • Ability to stay organized, understand priorities and schedule needs, and efficiently work on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.
  • Solid awareness of responsibilities and sense of accountability.
  • Dedicated and effective team player with the ability to perform the tasks required to get the job done. Understanding the contractor scope of work and be ready to lend a hand.
  • Ability and willingness to take direction and to implement with some direction from leadership.  Understanding of when it is appropriate to make decisions and when to escalate to manager; know when to ask questions.  Ability to progress into leading projects with some oversight required.
  • Commitment to organizational excellence and constant awareness to seek opportunities to improve processes/quality of deliverables.

Experience/Education

  • 1+ years of experience with construction, able to read drawings and understand construction tools.
  • 1+ year of experience in working with build of facility cabinets, infrastructure, copper and fiber distribution, power assignments to Customer cabinets and overall basic understanding of data center builds.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, Technical School degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications
  • Candidates with field experience and background in construction installation of IT, telecom, data center assets, fiber optics, networking, and gear installation are strongly encouraged to apply.

US Salary Range
$85,000$100,000 USD
